Stendarr, the Vigilant, werewolves etc.

I searched to see if this had been answered before but couldn't find an answer specific to my question:

Do the Vigilant represent an orthodox 'Stendarrite' view of werewolves, daedra etc.? I get the impression that they are the equivalent of Salafi muslims or Christian fundamentalists, more than the mainstream of Stendarr worship.

I ask because I was planning a character with a background connected to Stendarr, who would also be a werewolf.

I might be pulling this out of my ass, but I think in Dawnguard one of the Vigilants say that they do go after werewolves, but the vampire threat was worth more concern. It would also make sense, considering their view of Daedra as being wholly evil and a werewolf is essentially a Daedroth (not a big, snappy, graqe-y croc of Molag Bal, but a Daedric Creature)

The Vigilants are unorthodox only to the extent that they're militant enough to actively go looking for such creatures to eliminate them. Your typical church-based priest wouldn't view them any more favorably.

Now, nothing would stop an individual person from trying to uphold a Stendarrite ethos whilst also being a werewolf, but it wouldn't be easy and they certainly wouldn't want to let the rest of the church find out.

The Nine Divines temple is unconcerned with heterodoxy, so as far as I can tell. That is to say, there is little dogmatism in the Imperial Cult. The Vigilants of Stendarr are a military branch of the Temple, charged with hunting down daedra and their kin. They don't represent a view on dogma.
