So I encountered a dead thief in Riften who had stolen two candlesticks. It made me laugh but I assumed it was a random event. However, someone on the Steam forum posted this picture - http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb428/iamjimmeh/TESV2011-11-2000-34-59-69.jpg. Now I'm thinking it might be an intentional Les Miserables reference, but I'm not sure. Has anyone else found this silver thief?

Also, has anyone else found potential "popular culture" references in Skyrim.

not sure the ratfanger of hameln qualifies as pop culture, but that was a pretty obvious one in the thieves guild quest line
