Help with sore eyes apart from FOV.

Post » Mon Jul 15, 2013 2:22 pm

Hi

Completed Skyrim a year or so ago. It was on a 17" Squarish Monitor.

I just reinstalled as i want to try the expansions now, but am on a 24" widescreen monitor.

So my system is the same and i had no problems then. But i am finding it hard to play this time around. I don't get so much motiion sickness as it feels i have strained eyes and get a headache.

I have changed the FOV to 90 and even higher and it's not helping. So i am wondering if there is any other help or tips that can help? Something to do with refresh rates or something else??

Thanx

Probably just tunnel vision, well the computer screen version of it. I experienced it when I moved from a standard screen (19") to a widescreen (24"). Eventually, I got used to the screen size and dimension difference. Alternatively, you could try running it in Windowed Mode at the same aspect ratio as your 17" (4:3).

Ultimately, that will only prolong your problems. The headaches and motion sickness will eventually go away, but until then I would suggest paracetamol.

Go to OPTIONS -> at the window Skyrim Options -> tick at the Windowed Mode (left below)

Set the Resolution at the pull down menu.

And if you want:

Go into Documents\My Games\Skyrim and open up SkyrimPrefs.ini. Change the iSize H= and iSize W= values under [Display] to what you want them to be.
