Need help finding console I.D. for small campfire.

Post » Tue Jul 16, 2013 10:02 pm

When I click "all" and then type in "campfire" I get several "giant campfire burning".

I tried all of those and they are too massive.

I am trying to placeatme spawn a small, humble burning campfire.

If someone can help me, could I get a few I.D.'s to try out?

There has to be a burning campfire other than the giant ones I see.

*...EDIT ..I am trying to find one similar, if not exactly like the one at the tiny bandit camp at the Riverwood/Helgen crossroads area, just a little ways outside of Helgen between Riverwood and Lakeview Manor (Hearthfire).

It is the first bandit camp you encounter in the game on the way down the hill from Helgen to Riverwood, and "Treasure Map 1" can be looted from one of the bandits.

My computer can barely handle running the CK or I would just render window the area and click on the fire itself for the I.D.

That, and I am terrible with using the CK. I really svck at it.

Just open the console and type...

help campfire

You can do that for any item in the game.

Or maybe it's called firepit.

Tried both, and it brings up a list of text that I do not understand.

The help command plus the name, or part of a name, of the object you are looking for will bring up a list of those items along with the ID of the item. The first part will tell you what type of item is is, like BOOK, WEAPON, ARMOR, MISC...

Just page up until you come across the item you are looking for. Then write down the ID and use with the placeatme command.

EDIT : Use the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console to find helpful commands, like the "help" command.

Tried arrowing up, and I am not finding any items, just a ton of indistinguishable jarble.

I was hoping someone could possibly help me obtain the item I.D. for the campfire I described?

That's what I was doing. Anyone else will essentially do the same thing as I described to find it. Or look in the CK. I don't get what's indistinguishable. It lists clearly what the items are.

EDIT : What exactly is some of the list you are having trouble understanding?

Try this reference:

Campfire01LandBurningFallForestDirt01

If it's too big, click on it in the console and rescale it by using the command:

setscale 0.90

or any other figure lower than 1.00. ;)

I learned the hard way never to scale down a placeatme spawned object.

Even if scaled down, the original size of the object remains, only invisible.

For example, I could placeatme a barrel, then scale it down to .50.

It will still be its original size (1.00), with the smaller version suspended within the invisible original.

That is how it has always worked for me.

I spawned a chest in my house once, scaled it down, but my character still runs into an invisibale area surrounding it (due to its original size still taking up space, just invisible).

Long story short: I don't scale anything down anymore.

Ok... I entertained this out of sheer curiosity. I entered the console and typed 'help campfire'. I then hit [page up] once, and I came to...

FURN : ( ) 'Campfire'

It is a furniture item ( FURN ), for some reason. Nonetheless, I then typed...

player.placeatme

It spawned a burning campfire at my feet.

I was not aware that you could placeatme spawn objects using a RefID.

I thought it only worked with base I.D.'s.

I just used that to show the location of the ID you are looking for.

EDIT : I misread your comment. You can use both. One will just spawn a duplicated of an item or NPC, while the other will create an entirely new instance. It is explained in more detail in the Console link I provided in the earlier post.

EDIT 2 : Or the exact http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Form_ID descriptions.
