I just picked up New Vegas off Steam with a bunch of add-ons for 5 bucks and was looking to get the most out of it. I modded Skyrim for over a year, there was tons of comprehensive overviews that collected all the steps out there to get the game running about any way you wanted. Just wondering if anyone knew some of the best guides out there. Thanks

Thats what started with to help me out with modding a bit. I'm a complete noob and still awful with it, but this got the game working for me. There is also a fallout new vegas modding clinic set of videos from the same guy. very helpful stuff.

First off, New Vegas is an awesome game. A lot of people will argue that. The story was great for the most part. You could actually skip right to the end and forget about everything else. But the actual game play and combat was tremendous. A wide variety of customization, from guns to bullets really makes this one of my favorites. And that fact that your choices throughout the game effects how it ends. Now to start off, I'm sure you'll be playing on easy or medium mode. And you have to ask yourself if you are a shooter or a fighter. I personally was a fighter. I used mostly melee weapons. So in the beginning I increased my strength and melee skills. But if your a person who likes guns then I would increase your guns skills. It's a pretty simple game. There's not much of a guide. With it being an open world RPG, you just go off and do your thing. Just follow the mission objectives. For your first time though you should join the NCR and work for them. There's a lot to explore and do. You will have a blast. Hope this helps some what. Have fun.
