above is link to brief history of east india trading company

I would like to recomend, an alt version of this, east coast trading company.

They would be british, with local mercs.

They would be trying to gain foothold on us terrtory, near the sea.

They would be sponsering carvans for trade, and to gain money and influnce.

They do want a geck, or schemtics to build a geck.

weapons

SLR with bayonet (We still train with them, and have had used them in afgan and iraq)

Bren (machine gun)

Sten gun (sub machine gun)

l2 grenades

Any constructive critisim welcome, plus reason why not if can give valid reason why not.

To moderators- I've just private messaged a moderator with an appeal that a "Future Fallout Factions" thread be created in addition the the "Locations" and "Speculation and Suggestions" thread. There's been plenty of debate and suggestions for new factions and how they could take place in future Fallout titles. While I accept that this is indeed a form of speculation or suggestion, I'd also like for it to be acknowledged that this is a fairly large topic to approach and would relieve some possible clutter in the existing thread, while giving more freedom for members, especially newer members as I've noticed they have plenty of faction ideas, to voice their opinion without being drowned out in the current thread.

On subject- While i'd assume Fallout 4 to be well along in its creation, I would like to note that Fallout 3 developers and Bethesda employees have made a comment about Tenpenny's apparent British lineage. I feel that based off of their comments and Tenpenny's inclusion, that a minor European or British faction is entirely within reason.

"Allistair Tenpenny came to the Capital Wasteland from Great Britain to seek his fortune, so that alone tells you that the U.K. was also hit in the war. And if he came to U.S. to succeed, that says a lot about how screwed up Europe must be. So we just allude, a little bit, to the state of the rest of the world. We like to leave a lot to the players' imaginations, and somebody like Tenpenny serves as a catalyst for those thoughts" - Emil Pagliarulo

Fallout 3 showed an apparent lack for a well known caravan and trading company, I feel the inclusion of this faction as a budding new trading company would be highly beneficial, colorful and true to Bethesda's desires.
-For one they give us an insight as to the state of other parts of the world, we'll obtain a clearer picture of how the United Kingdom fared
-They'd be almost entirely unique, they'd be the first faction to arrive from another country. I exclude the Shi because they were the descendants of those in the nuclear submarine.
-They provide us with a viable AND highly effective trading company, perhaps they make trips back to the United Kingdom during intervals of the year, this improves commerce for the wasteland.
-Introduction of new armor and weapon variants

The faction itself leaves the opportunity for a side-questline equal or greater in size than the Crimson Caravans in New Vegas.
-They enlist the player in helping improve their trade relations and hold on in Boston
-You can obtain a job as a caravan guard similar to that in Fallout 2.
-They ask for assistance in locating a G.E.C.K. While I reason that the GECKs would have all been discovered or used, it doesn't necessarily have to be a successful quest. You find documentations and follow leads which bare no fruit for the trading company, as a result their home country must endure the hardships of the nuclear apocalypse, but the trading company uses their hold to improve the situation of those that remain in the UK. Alternatively you might convince them to try and make Boston their new home.
-The trading company would employ ruthless and cutthroat strategies to be the big fish for trading in the East.

did some quick research one man can row across the alantic in 88 days.

also a team of four did it in 50 days, so a few long boats could make the trip even in low tech this is visable.

though we would most likly use, some warship or some sort small power craft as their are lots over here.

they proably also take over a small island near the usa, possibly jamaica for historical reasons.

the reason for this, is a central base to sort out anything of value and where to send it.

Why would they be in America though? Hmm... Maybe the remnants of the EIC continue to run weapons and contract mercenaries internationally after the company disbanded due to the British left India in 1950s. In the Great War, they could have gathered enough international power to secure their places in a post-war world.

As of now, maybe the NCR see the needs to expand toward the east coast, and seek out the naval expertise of the company (They wouldn't be called "East India Company" though; unless they're a bunch of Indians) to run suppy and troops through the Panama Canol in South America. They would probably part-time as viking-like raiders who attack coastal towns, that would make them bad guys though. Oh well, it's not like the NCR is pure and honest.

I can see it. The company's general theme would be, ya know fish, chips, cup o' tea, bad food, worst weather, Marry [censored] Poppins... With steely-eyed mustached dudes armed with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksMydLGN1oc. Also, imagine a mutated pet octopus or mutated flying fishes.

Anything is possible. I mean, if I was a Fallout 2 developer, if someone told me they want the Ancient Romans in the game I would laugh my ass off.

I think you missed the OPs point entirely.

He never mentions that the faction itself is the East India Trading Company. He states they'd be modeled in a theme similar (if I'm not mistaken) and would be from the United Kingdom, named the East Coast Trading Company.

Furthermore, the lead developers in Bethesda reference Great Britain's condition. They'd be traveling to the United States for resources, money, technology and to gain a stronghold in Boston. Furthermore, I believe the OP originally mentions that they'd be in search of a G.E.C.K, in other words a way to restore life to their country.

For additional information check out my post and the quote from one of Bethesda's lead designers. In fact if I believe some higher ups in Bethesda mentioned they'd want to visit Great Britain during the resource war, while I'm also fairly certain they mentioned not backtracking in the Fallout timeline, this would provide a perfect opportunity.

Lastly with the lack of trading companies out East and the lack of possible factions for a Boston themed game, I believe it's a wonderful idea. Not to mention one can't simply look at factions like Fallout 3 portrays them. Fallout: New Vegas is more accurate in giving the player a choice of siding with one of several major factions. None can be expressly written off as evil or bad guys. Sure the Legion is a much darker faction, but they in themselves are a morally grey faction. NCR is more or less a neutral faction and House and Yes Man were for independence. There was no good or bad guys, just what the player believed to be the salvation for the wastes or what the character they were role-playing as perceived it to be.

I'd like to see more vareity in raider bands then just having them all look like extras from Mad Max. Here are a few ideas I have.

-For example how about a band of raiders called "The Black Knights" who wear armour made of rusty scrap and armed with "medieval" style weapons (crude homemade crossboss, nail studded wooden clubs, double bladed lumberjack axes and swords made out of sharpened sheet metal)

-A band of really grizzled looking cannibal raiders called "The Meat Eaters" who have long hair and long beards, wear bloody tattered clothes and are armed with hunting guns and butcher tools.

-How about some pirates ( sea, lake, river or swamp). Dressed in dirty nautical clothes and armed with boarding hooks, shotguns (single barreled and double barreled, sawed off and long barreled) because pirates traditionally used guns that fired shot. The would also be armed with boarding hooks, fire axes, revolvers and cutlasses.
