So I took the Voracious Reader perk for the first time, and am really enjoying all the juggling you can do with Pre-War books, damaged books, blank magazines, and blank books.
However it got me thinking more generally about books and magazines, and I have become rather dissatisfied with the magazine concept as a result.
I entirely get the Skill Book concept. They are pretty rare, you find one and read it, and get a small permanent skill boost based on what you learned.
But magazines? Very common, you can amass a pretty big hoard of them, you read one and get a temporary skill boost, and forget what you learned a minute or two later?
Essentially they are another chem. I could buy into them better if, for example, they gave a permanent skill boost of +1, rather than a temporary +10.
So do you like the way magazines function? Would you prefer my idea, or another one altogether?
