Just bought skyrim on PC L.E. Edition but...

Post » Thu Jul 18, 2013 9:28 pm

Hallo guys...

I just installed skyrim L.E. from the disk.

I have all patches, and unofficial ones, and downloaded high resolution textures with the patch from steam.

I just finished unbound, going to Riverwood all looks fine, superb graphics, no freezes, no mouse lag, or keybord problems.

No CTD's save files at 4236 Kb.

After that i don't know why a run BOSS only to see what happens.

and i got that:

So i run Tes5edit but just finished without any errors !!!!!

I opened Update.esm Active all the pull down menus at the left and i saw some keys (numbers in red), but i just can't figured it out how i clean them or delete them whatever...

So i have no freezes, or CTD's. Should i leave it that way ????

The strange thing is i uninstalled skyrim and steam twice, i restarted, i installed all over again (btw steam work's fine) but again if i run BOSS without playing at all, he gives me the same errors....

You follow the provided guide to clean them. It's pretty straight forward. UDRs would cause crashes if something else tried to reference those records. ITMs are more subjective, in that they could be intentional. However, sometimes they are unintentional or not needed for the mod to work properly and removing them helps alleviate conflicts.

I'm referring to the linked guide: http://www.creationkit.com/TES5Edit_Cleaning_Guide_-_TES5Edit

As for another utility, not really. And it is relatively simple.

Eh, I personally set up an archive with the cleaned files and manage it in Bash to make my life easier.

This is normal and expected. Bethesda doesn't clean official plugins, so every time you reinstall them you have the version with dirty edits.

You don't need to read the whole page (unless you want to understand cleaning and not just clean a mod ;)), just usehttp://www.creationkit.com/TES5Edit_Cleaning_Guide_-_TES5Edit#Section_2:_Mod_Cleaning_Instructions. It really isn't so complicated, especially for official DLC: follow the instructions to load the plugin you want to clean, then right click and Apply Filter For Cleaning -> Remove "Identical to Master" records -> Undelete and Disable References. Close TES5Edit, click OK. That's it.

It can go in any folder as it knows where your Data folder is.

Gopher has a great video that explains how to clean your Bethesda master files: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw3g_N1jcZQ

It's not linked to in any of the above links (although another one of Gopher's videos is), but I find this is the most concise and useful for first-time users of TES5Edit.
