Introduced? Oblivion. Played extensively and actually enjoyed? Skyrim by long shot.
Oblivion.
I very vaguely remember a friend playing Bloodmoon when I was at his house a long, long time ago but I had no idea what the ES series was back then. I was officially introduced to TES from another friend when he loaned me a copy of Oblivion. Man, was I wasting hours of my life on that game!
Good old vanilla Morrowind on the original Xbox, so no mods.
I remember making my first character, i had no idea what i was doing, fooled around for about an hour and then got killed, and hadn't saved my game yet, so had to start all over LOL, what a noob.
But the setting was interesting, and game had so much depth, i ended up spending 100s of hours playing it.
Morrowind for me too. I saw screenshots on Amazon.com in the summer of 2001 and was amazed by the beauty of the game. I put in my pre-order that day. It was supposed to be released later in 2001. By the time it came out in 2002 I had almost given up hope that it would ever be released. I still remember walking out on deck, seeing that gorgeous water, the skies, hearing the cry of the Silt Strider. I will never forget that moment.
Oblivion, I wouldn't be surprised if I still haven't played Skyrim as much as I did Oblivion.
Oblivion. I was late to upgrade to xbox 360 but i made sure it was the first game i got for my xbox 360. I had never played a game like it before, when I got out of the sewer and looked left at the giant forest that was over there I said "No way you can actually go over there, so I didnt try." I thought I was playing a big game when I got to the imperial city and saw all of areas, but then looked at the map and say an entire half of cyrodil untouched and said "oh my god, there must be some high level stuff over there." Because that's how i though RPG's worked. And tbh it intimidated me a bit but I quickly became an expert on RPG's after playing Oblivion
