Oblivion is the most fun TES to discuss!

First, let me say that the topic title is not a fact, it's just my opinion. So, if you prefer to discuss another game, that is fine, and please feel free to share your feelings about which TES title you prefer to discuss and why. This thread is not about which game is best, or even which game is more fun to play. It's just about which game is the most fun to discuss, and in my case it is Oblivion.

There are several reasons for this. Oblivion was my first TES, so I may have a little Oblivion nostalgia. I have played both Morrowind, Skyrim and even a little Daggerfall, but I have clocked more hours in Oblivion than the others, and that may affect which game I find more fun to discuss. Or, perhaps it is because Oblivion has a more light hearted feel than Morrowind or Skyrim.

I don't know for certain, but I think it has a lot to do with the camaraderie? here on the Oblivion forum. There is something about this forum that just feels different than the Morrowind forum or the Skyrim forum.

I am curious to know if I am alone in this, or if there are others who have more fun discussing Oblivion than any other game. And if so, why. Is it the people here, or the game itself. And if it is the people, then what is it about the game of Oblivion that attracts such a great group of people to discuss it on a forum.

Oblivion General Discussion is my favorite game forum on the internet. I like the people here. The place feels like home to me. Even when I'm not playing the game (which is often) I came here just because I like the people who post here.

I know I get on their nerves at times because I can be extremely critical of Oblivion but, to their credit, they have never told me to go soak my head in a barrel of water. This speaks volumes for their characters, I feel. And it is why this is such a good forum. (That is, when they aren't massive amounts of time trashing Skyrim instead of doing what they're supposed to be doing, which is talking about Oblivion.... )

This sentence is an example of the kind of thing that gets on people's nerves.

...trying very hard to avoid making a comment about the relative sizes of barrels... ...ducking and diving for cover behind Acadian... :bolt:

Oblivion is a light-hearted and upbeat game that invites light-hearted and upbeat discussion. There are quite a few characters who make me laugh out loud, and even the AI glitches and oddities are so over-the-top that they're charming.

At any rate, we can live through the thousands of mudcrab dialogues that we hear in-game, so the conversations here are bound to be acceptable!
