Need help unpacking a .bsa and removing some files

Post » Sat Jul 20, 2013 10:16 am

Okay so I'm sick and tired of the high-pitched insect sounds in Skyrim, and have traced the files that I want removed. They are in the Skyrim - Sounds.bsa. I tried BSAopt but can't seem to use it.. Is there another way to disable these sounds? Like through the CK or something or via in-game console?

EDIT: Apparently I succeeded in unpacking the .bsa anyway. So can I just delete the Skyrim - Sound.bsa entirely and just put the extracted folder with the annoying insect files removed into the Skyrim/Data?

Loose files will overwrite anything found in BSAs. I'd recommend that you just add a silent sound file to the appropriate directory for the bug sounds as a loose file rather than unpacking the whole thing.

Great idea. Thanks.

I've already got it sorted with loose files. But that's a great idea.
