allowing followers to die

Post » Sat Jul 20, 2013 7:29 am

after having certain followers for a while I allow them to die because I dont want to play a game where all the players friends survive.

I have allowed Uthgerd, Jenassa, Njada, Teldryn, Stenvar (I think thats his name), Marcurio, Rayya and some more die on my current playthrough.

I killed a few of them because I wanted them to be killed in certain places.
Uthgerd died in Bleak falls barrow. killed by Draugr
Jenassa died in raven rock mine. killed by me
Njada died in a bear cave in the Rift. killed by me
Teldryn died in Halted Stream camp. killed by me
Stenvar died in a Falmer cave in Winterhold. killed by Falmer
Marcurio died in Blackreach. killed by me
Rayya died protecting 3 chickens and a cow from a dragon. killed by dragon.

Actually, all followers being "protected", it's you who killed them all. :)

Have someone be killed by me.

It's the least you could do. And don't forget to soul trap Valdar before he vanishes.

The "truest" or most gung-ho Nord you can find.

If all else fails, then Lydia I guess...

Michael why are you telling us this?

Personally (my opinion) I think it's a disgusting way to play... it's immoral.

I believe followers must be kept alive, and I reload if anything 'tragic' happens.

Of course, if you live in a free country you can do whatever you like.

Just... don't tell us about it.

Deviant behavior should not be celebrated!

I dont want to play a game where all good people survive. I dont want the game to be like a terrible hollywood movie.

Lydia is essential on this playthrough for some unknown reason.
I'll bring Vilkas.

But you're killing the majority of them on purpose.

If one of my followers dies they stay dead,I don't reload to keep them alive.

I don't kill any of them intentionally,I usually have some kind of rights of passing and lay some flowers down for them if I can.

For me it's a sad day when a follower dies, but I never did see the point in reloading to keep them alive.

To me it just doesn't seem like good roleplaying to do so.

Not exactly. From what I've gathered, he's "planning them" for the purposes of his character's story and role-play. Like a script in his mind if you will.

I've done something like this before. I would plan a follower's death in order to fuel his motives for a story in my mind or whatever.
