Darker nights mod?

Post » Wed Jul 24, 2013 9:40 am

Ive just come back to skyrim and remember my nights to be a lot darker than they are now. I have RLO and I swear they were dark before but now night is like a dull evening, visibility has barely changed from day time. So is there something wrong with RLO or do I need a mod to change the brightness at night? And yes my in game brightness bar has not been changed.

Btw I have recently bought dragonborn so my game was updated.

I don't think RLO does the outdoors, it sure does not on my game.

Hmm, must of been a different mod then.

I don't think you can use both RLO and COT though. Ideally need something to darken the game a bit, I did have dark nights at one stage with no cot or enb but I cant remember what I used.... really annoying me

I've tried RLO, and TBH, I didn't like it much. I much prefer what COT does. RLO overdoes the lighting a bit too much for my tastes

That is my problem with the mods that reduce the light levels at night. They all make it too dark. After all it's a game, I want to see what's going on.

You can use them together and, yes, CoT comes with several options regarding the level of darkness during nights.

The RealVision ENB + Mod compilation (uses CoT + RLO) makes nights darker, specially indoors. It's pitch black if there is no light source, and even with some light sources it's still pretty dark. The goat horn type candles don't give off much light. Torches do alright, and the Candlelight/Magelight spells do wonders. Basically if you play with it, make sure you bring a light source with you for dungeon crawling.

This has been my main problem with most lighting mods I see. They tend to go overboard with making it so dark you can't even see your hand two inches in front of your face. I don't mind darker nights and dungeons, but I still want to be able to see something. As much as many of these darker nights/dungeons mods go overboard with extreme low light light levels, Beth went in the opposite direction with making it too bright . This is why I like COT best, I think there is a pretty good balance between amount of light available, to the amount of darkness preferred in your game.
