James alive?

Post » Fri Jul 26, 2013 2:59 am

A thought occurred to me recently.....what if James, the father of the Lone Wanderer is still alive?!?!?

He caused that radiation spike that supposedly killed him, but Colonel Autumn survived, or was revived. Chances are....the Enclave would've possibly had more use for James elsewhere, so they revived him....but they took him somewhere else, and the Lone Wanderer and the others simply have no clue that he could be indeed still alive.

This is just a theory, I mean if Colonel Autumn could survive that, and later the Lone Wanderer.....what reason James couldn't have survived it too?

If it is true, then perhaps there is plans to have him have some other role in a future Fallout game?

Unless he grabbed some of that advanced plot-Rad-X, no. He's dead, though that scene in itself makes little sense. Where did Autumn get that advanced Rad-X? Why do two soldiers outfitted in Advanced Power Armor Mark II die from radiation poisoning, even with their Power Helmets on? If we question this scene, it all falls apart.

Not to mention how utterly ridiculous it is for the Lone Wanderer, or Sarah Lyons ( if you sacrifice her and if I remember correctly ) to have survived that without reason, when James himself was killed because of it.

Poor, poor writing.

I'm sure Bethesda could make something up so that he was still alive, but it would make a part of the main story obselete. IMO, the only reason to have continued Project Purity was to finish your dad's dream. I think if James came out alive it would be a complete slap to the face.

The whole thing is a giant plot hole. The radiation kills James and everyone in there but not The Lone Wanderer for some reason, at least Augustus is explained that he gets advanced medical care to save him. The Enclave would not save the man who just tried to kill their top guy after President Eden. They wouldn't have anywhere else to take him.

He is dead and I don't want to see him again.

I guess it could be explained that the LW wasn't in the chamber as long as James was and the BoS gave him all the anti rad meds they had.

No, the last thing we need is more plot armored characters.
