messed up my mod with multiple files

Post » Sat Jul 27, 2013 2:19 am

Hello, I just got into Creation Kit and have made a Player Home that I'm satisfied with, the only problem is that the mod is spread over 5 esp.'s so for it to work I have to tick all the esp.'s under the Skyrim data files when starting Skyrim.

The reason is that Creation Kit wouldn't let me save on the same file so I simply made a new file and carried on like nothing had happen. I think that this started happening after I first made the inside of the house in the big black nothing to then go to the Skyrim wilderness where I made the outside of the house. So it seems that when I made changes on both sides I had to make a new file. The reason for that I have to tick all the 5 esp.'s to run the mod successfully is that when I save a new save it contain only the changes I made so things don't stock up on each other, except for the door, so I get 4 door when I open all the saves at the same time :/

So anyway here I now stay with 5 esp.'s and would like to know if there's a way to merge the 5 esp.'s into one. (tried TES5Edit but the inside of the house didn't load.)

Know that my English isn't the best but I hope you understand my problem, Tanks!

1. I believe this is caused by where Skyrim is installed? I've never hit upon the issue myself, but I've read that if it's installed into C:/Program Files, it can cause this issue-- that might be worth looking into...

2. Are you SURE you need all five?

Depending what you've done, you MAY have one file with all the changes in-- did you shut down the CK, for example, and then make a new .esp for the changes, or keep the CK open? You said you get 4 doors if you run all five at once, which makes me think that maybe you've actually got 1 "full" mod, and 4 "In progress" mods, so each one contains all of the previous edits, plus it's own... But then you say each one only contains the new changes...

Try enabling ONLY the latest one, and see what happens?

If you want, you can upload the files somewhere, and send me a link-- I have some free time this afternoon, and would be OK to take a look for you :)

Hello, Thanks for the fast answer!

1. My Skyrim folder is located under C:\Programs\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim

2. I have tried running each of them individual and It seems to always be a problem, either the inside of the house is missing or the outside. And when I look at the file sizes I see that the first file is much bigger than the rest.

I would be very happy if you would take I look at it, I have uploaded the file on MediaFire, but for some reason I can't post the link, so I send you a message
