Performance and realistic mods, these good?

Post » Sun Jul 28, 2013 10:55 am

Alright, so, i finally got NMM, FOMM, NVSE, and FO:NV all set and stable, even got a mod or two (the Darnation UI and a simple single mod) but i still need a few things before im ready to take on the legion, powder gangers, jackals, and such. I need some realistic mods, as well as performance mods.

And for Performance, i only see three that seem good to me.

Performance of the Gods: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/45475/?tab=1&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D45475%26preview%3D&pUp=1

4G mod: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35262//?

NV performance improver: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/49283/?tab=4&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D49283%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D911153&pUp=1

I don't know which mod i should choose. The third one doesn't seem popular, and one guy had a problem wiht a side quest (could be fixed later) The first one seems too clean and idk if it makes the game look like it does in the first two pictures, and the second one i am unsure if my performance issue is my RAM or not

And idk if these mods are good for realistic scenarios or not, but if someone has tried them, can you tell me if they are good and work as they are said to?

Guns Shot Straight: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/48697/?tab=4&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D48697%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D864221&pUp=1

Realistic Reloading: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/48242//?

Last but not least, i wanna know about Type 3. i seen a weapon mod for some sweet fantasy weapons (a gunblade and the buster sword from FF series games) but because it ALSO adds armor, i don't know if i HAVE to have the Type 3 like it says. for the mod i am looking at, it's here: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/44926//?

performance mods work best for some people not always for others however I do suggest getting the 4G enabler for type 3 it is the most common body replacer and often the preferred but if you have kids or uptight parents I'll link a underwear mod if you want when I get home as bits will be showing and it's a modest underwear not the lace or skimpy kind it's a lot like the vanilla model

so basically just try them out and see which one works for me. gotcha....

as for the type 3 thing, no thanks. if i wanna see nekkid girls, my girl is good enough for me. also, about the type 3, i only found the actual model input for Fo3 not, NV, so if i want this weapons mod, i can't get everything from it because idk where the dang thing is.

SO next quesiton, how do i get Fo3 main mods converted to NV?

The 4 GB enabler is a good addition, especially if you're planning at some point to use high resolution texture packs, such as NMC's. As for the other performance mods, are you having problems with slow, choppy framerates in the game? If you're not, then you don't need those other mods - they're intended mainly for people who are trying to run the game on low end hardware, and all that they do is disable graphically demanding features in the game. Even then, I'd try lowering the graphics settings in the game launcher first to see if I got acceptable framerates, and only use those mods as a last resort.

WRT to the Fallout 3 mods, you would be installing the meshes and textures from those mods, but using a plug-in file for New Vegas to use them in the game. You'd have to follow the links to the FO3 Nexus to get them. The readme file in the download from New Vegas Nexus should give detailed instructions on how to install everything; if it doesn't, then I would seriously reconsider whether I'd want to use that mod at all.

i tried to get my game to run SMOOTHLY. because it is choppy and eveything. the setting is on medium, cause if i go higher OR lower the game becomes unbearable at times. on medium and NO mods, just the game itself on steam, the game runs decently enough, but the stutters and the choppy mvoements, not just for me but also other characters and enemies, are chppy and teleport a few inches at times (not often, but they to slide at times to)

my computer is not exactly the best computer for gaming, let alone triple A titles like Fallout, so i do need help reducing the lagguiness and choppy movements. i am gonna get the stutter remover, because the performance of the gos mod actually helps the choppy behaviour quite well, making it ideal for me, so it's all good there. but it has a minor bug, and it still stutters, so sttter remover to remove the bug as well as the stuttr.

as for the FO3 mods, what do you mean plug in file to use them, what plug in file?
