1) Beast Mode 2.) Falmer Levels...

Post » Sun Jul 28, 2013 6:02 pm

So first of all, how many of you have maxed out the Werewolf Perks? I have, and uh...all I can say is that it not only remedied the issues with the old Beast Mode (you know...getting YOUR ASS KICKED BY LOW LEVEL BANDITS? As if you were a helpless little girl?), but it all but makes your character a Furry Angel of Death whenever you transform into a Werewolf (and that's just with Bestial Strength 4/4 and the increased Stamina and Health Perks...)

Second of all, has anyone truly tested the new (well I guess it's about a year old now...) Beast Mode by trying it in the most frustrating and easily avoided dungeons etc? I actually had a bit of a marathon in beast mode when I was munching on all of the dead people at Knifepoint Ridge when I was done with Boethiah's Calling, and proceeded to get attacked by vampires, more vampires, and then a freakin' Revered Dragon before I had turned back into my normal character. There were a few hairy moments, but by and large?

I pretty much wiped my ___ with those svckers...SERIOUSLY. It wasn't even halfway fair, except for fighting the dragon, who insisted on hovering over me and blasting me with everything but the kitchen sink, but I figured out how to just run away from that until it got frustrated enough to land, and then I got a good running running start and killed it with less than 5 attacks. That running power attack is not to be trifled with, people...(this was all either on Expert or Master, too)

I've been meaning to test the fully powered Werewolf at places like Liar's Retreat, but I either forget to do it or I get cold feet. Anyone else actually get through one of those places (where you can get surrounded by the most cheap/"cheatingest" and strongest enemies in the game, which just sorta svcks...) with the new Beast Mode?

Perhaps you misunderstood my main question  ? I'm curious if anybody else has gone into the notoriously evil dungeons etc in super beast mode. It seems like it should be pretty very doable, but just knowing that it's been done might get me off my butt to try it.

A fully perked werewolf is a monster, I once went claw to tooth with an Ancient dragon on expert and destroyed it. If you're fighting humans/humanoids then it's no contest, the only problem is stopping to feed on the fallen every so often but if you howl as you do it then not only do you get the feeding effect but the howl cuts the time of the feed down drastically as well as scares away weaker enemies.

I managed to kill giants, mammoths, and at least one dragon in Beast Mode with that health regeneration ring. Speed is the key (and werewolves are fast); though, I might have cheated a little by casting Ebony Flesh before transforming. Most human-height enemies are never a problem; I cleared out that cave full of Falmers north of Whiterun in Beast Mode before.

I only wish werewolves were able to stealth around a little. Max out Sneak and Silent Casting, but why bother? Might as well kick the door in and start trashing the place. I thought werewolves were the perfect stealth killing machine, but oh well.

On Legendary it's a bit more tactical, because your stamina recovers much slower. Most of my stamina went into charging into and running away instead of power attack. (Because giants are ALSO fast).

Archers, on the other hand, are pretty cheap on Legendary. Bandit Marauders have aimbots and heatseeking, wall-phasing, reality-bending arrows (no, really), and they usually kill me in two shots. Not to mention they sometimes matrix dodge my lunges like they do with arrows. :swear: In enclosed space (caves and dungeons), there are always risk of getting nailed by multiple archers. Thank the divines Falmer archers are slow.

I've many a time thrashed many places, I've been surrounded by at least 10 guards on legendary n killed them all easily. Beast form is just unstoppable at max perks, even the ebony knight on legendary fell to me in beast form just gotta sprint attack him n he can't even touch u

How do you open up the Werewolf perks? By purchasing Dawnguard or do I need Dawnguard and to do specific quests? I am a werewolf currently but I only have the original game. And I'm also only Level 8.

The only problem imo is that you can't pick up things in beast mode. I know why you can't, but seriously, everytime I transform I see a potion of Ultimate healing or something. EVERY TIME.

When you're a werewolf, every moment is hairy...

It's like Legendary, but made with yeast.

Oops...sorry, that's Leavendary.

I thought that I had done all of the exploits above on Expert, but I checked and, heavens to murgatroyd, it was on Master. I had set it to Master, had some bad luck (was going through Alftand and Kharjo seriously FELL off that huge empire state bldg sized ramp and disappeared...I was a bit pissed...) and thought that I switched back to Expert. Guess not...bwahahahhaha!

Honestly I haven't even tried Legendary yet. Maybe that'll be a good excuse to play through as a dude for the first time...

As a user of SkyRE mod, which makes even skeevers a danger at early levels, I have found my main character using Werewolf form far more than I would have expected. While in elf form I couldn't pass through several dungeons, beat several bosses, as werewolf I just curb stomp everyone. Using Ring of Hircine, which in the mod grants armor bonus for werewolves.

I couldn't have defeated the boss in Soul Cairn without it.

Rag-dolling Giants is rather amusing. I like Beastmode well enough, it it's a bit unwieldy and awkward to control.
