Get your internetz here!

Okay, PC enthusiasts, let's play a game. We shall award internetz to those who can respond to the technical questions I post WITHOUT google searching it.

(While it's impossible to verify, copy/paste responses from Hardware manufacturer's websites and Wikipedia are really easy to spot)

We're on the honor system people, let's see what you got!

Ready?
Set??
GO!

1) What is "TRIM" and what does it actually do?

2) On systems that don't support the TRIM function natively (Windows based, of course) is there a way to manually perform this function? If so, explain how to perform.

3) Name 3 key architectural changes to Intel's "Haswell" and BE SPECIFIC - as in don't give us a wikipedia answer, tell us what they are, how they work and how they were achieved. (**Simply telling us something like "it's more power efficient" without stating specifically how this was achieved will disqualify your answer).

4) Name 3 key architectural changes between AMD's "Bulldozer" and the more recent "Piledriver" architecture - BE SPECIFIC - tell us what they are, how they work and how they were achieved.

5) Name 3 technical benefits for the use of Windows 8 and at least 1 technical drawback.

6) In your own words, tell us what a DLL is and how it works.

7) What is "Virtual Memory", how does it work and how much should a computer system have(ideally)?

8) What does it mean to have a 64-bit processor and why is that significant?

9) Who created the first, true 64-bit processor? Justify your answer with a technical explanation.

10) Explain - in detail - what Nvidia's "CUDA" actually is (less than 100 words).
** It should be noted that there is only one correct answer and that it isn't a "Company line".**

11) Explain what ATi Stream actually was and then tell us why it was technically better than Nvidia's solution. (Yes, from a purely technical perspective, it was light years ahead of everything Nvidia made)

12) It is a well-known and well-documented fact that the primary performance differences between AMD's FX8350 and Intel's i7 3770K only averaged out to about 13% overall. Name the 4 primary things AMD could've done to narrow the gap to 0%.
***HINT: 2 are chip based, 2 are not ***

Okay, there are your first questions. Just remember: THIS IS FOR FUN and not intended to start fights. Incorrect answers will be blithely ignored.

Internetz to be awarded for correct answers!

Are you **** serious. You understand you're asking the gamesas forums, right?
Jeeze, ill try to do my best. I've read about most of these via my monthly computer mag subscription.

1) TRIM is a cleanup command that the OS uses for SSD drives. It assists in correctly deleting data off the SSD so performance is not degraded (An issue with 1st gen SSDs).

2)You wouldn't really manually perform it, most SSD drives manufactures have software utilities that can perform the TRIM operation when the OS doesn't support it.

3) A) Increased low-level cache bandwidth, which has been doubled over previous generation.
B) Advanced Vector Extentions 2, which has the effect of doubling single and double-precision floating point operations
C) Integrated voltage regulator module, which has been moved to the silicon for the first time, makes overclocking more reliable.

Asking how it was achieved is a bit far fetched, I'm not exactly an Intel engineer.

There's the first three, ill let others do the rest if they wish.

You do realise people are just going to look it up anyway and no one will notice?

I win. I didn't look it up, I was just too lazy to complete the rest of the questions. The Internetz are mine!
