Bloodmoon Shield Fixes?

Well, I am still very new to this forum, so if I am making a mistake by starting a new thread for this, please feel free to direct me to a more appropriate place.

I have a question regarding Bloodmoon's shields. Not the usual inquiry for this regarding the Snow Bear and Wolf shields. Those are implemented in my game by Emma's Lokken mod, and I'm quite content with it. My question is about the Nordic Mail and the Stalhrim Ice shields. I mean, http://i42.tinypic.com/359jt06.jpg. Unless my knowledge of the mechanics of medieval hardware is wrong, the way that it's attached to the arm is completely impossible. Not only that, it's top-heavy to the point of ridiculousness. With a weapon drawn, it takes up half the screen, making a battle into a game of http://i44.tinypic.com/2egd5p3.jpg I don't mind that as much as I do the fact that even without a weapon drawn, there is always the tip of the shield hovering just in view at the bottom of the screen in first-person view, in a way that would only be possible if the shield was embedded in my torso. Morrowind has plenty of impractical shields, but at least I'm not expected to believe that it's held to my arm by some kind of clamp.

I have no modeling or reskinning ability, or else I would fix this myself. But I can't have been the only one to be annoyed by this, and I think at one point I saw a mod that fixed this on Planet Elder Scrolls. I haven't been able to find it again though, there or anywhere else. It was a long time ago, so it is possible my memory is just a product of my wishful thinking. But I might as well ask: does this ring a bell for anyone out there?
