Followers and Sneaking

Post » Tue Jul 30, 2013 7:59 am

I'm playing a sneaky assassin-type character, but I have Teldryn Sero as a follower (for reasons that I'm probably going to post an amusing anecdote about in another topic). He's actually pretty decent in sneaking, people notice us but the eye marker BARELY opens. Since I haven't done this build with a follower before, I'd like to know:

- Does the Muffle enchantment on equipment actually work when equipped on followers?

- Can you order a follower to backstab someone?

- If the above is YES, does the Backstab enchantment actually apply to them (keep in mind: Worn Shrouded Gloves can actually be disenchanted to learn Backstab)?

- If the point two bullet points ago is NO, does anyone know of a mod that would allow me to command followers from a distance? (because I'd love to tell him to wait in a spot and then if my sneak approach goes sour, tell him to show up so I get some extra muscle while cutting people to death)

-Yes, and it is incredibly helpful.

-No, but you can order them to attack someone normally while you remain completely undetected.

-No.

-Entering command mode can be done by holding the activate key while aiming at the follower. They will run towards you.

Ah, that's particularly frustrating, given that going by my experiences with Serana, you can't backstab someone if your follower is attacking them, even if they don't see you yet (glitch? no idea). It was such a problem with Irkingthand in the Thieves Guild quest, damn Brynjolf and Karliah would rouse the Falmer and then I'd have to hide until they'd get overwhelmed before I could actually kill people.

Though the entering command mode seems like it'd be really helpful. :) Thanks!

But you can wait while they finish the job. Useful for assassinating people.

And you're welcome, Samus.
