Does New Vegas run fine on Windows 8?

Post » Thu Aug 01, 2013 3:43 pm

I'm sorry if this is wrong section/already asked, which it probably is, but I'm planning on purchasing Fallout 3 and New Vegas for my PC, and It's a windows 8 laptop. I have a strong enough Processor, RAM, and everything else. But it's Windows 8, and when I look at the recommended specs for each game, it just says Windows 7/XP or whatever, doesn't mention 8. I'm guessing it shouldn't be a problem running on Windows 8 because it's an updated OS? And my friend said that he bought a Fallout 3 disk and he had to 'trick' his Game into thinking it was running on a different OS, which idk if I want to do that.. I just want to make sure I don't waste my money on buying these games if they won't run on my laptop. Thanks for any help and/or suggestions!

Usually things are compatible, but really, its impossible to tell for sure without trying. The outcome can be different for everyone. I don't see why it wouldn't work, though, and would be rather surprised if it didn't work.

Hmm while I haven't installed either Fallout 3 or New Vegas to my current laptop yet I can say that Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim run flawlessly on Windows 8. Perhaps that counts for something eh?
