Across my travels, I invariably find flutes, lutes, and drums just lying about. Eventually, when I finally get a place to live, I will collect these and place them somewhere in my home. But that got me to thinking, wouldn't it be nice if we could actually play these instruments ( and others that may exist within Skyrim), through taking some in-game music lessons, or as some form of mini-game? Any thoughts on this?

Fable 2 or 3 had a music mini game. TES could do something similar.

It would be nice if the Bards College actually taught us music instead of going dungeon diving.

Perhaps the ability to use the instrument, but not mini games. I don't see that to be necessary.

It's funny as when I found a few instruments that I couldn't play I thought WTF but then thought that it must be quest related so I saved them and waited. Once I found the Bards College I thought "ohh this must be where I learn to play". After wasting time doing all the damn fetch quests I was sorely disappointed in another of many half-assed features and killed everyone I could at the college
