Needed more culture from the diff parts of Tamriel

Post » Sat Aug 03, 2013 1:34 pm

Now first of all don't get the wrong end of the stick. I understand that most of the culture and customisation in Skyrim had to be Nord, due to the fact it's in their homeland but we could have got some more for the other races. They were just left out! The Nords are a brilliant bunch and their culture and lore is extremely interesting but SOMETHING from the other races wouldn't go unnoticed.

For the other races (apart from the Imperials and the Dark Elves) there's little to nothing! No clothing (apart from the Redguards), no lore, no characters to tell in depth tales of their homelands, nothing!

At least 2 pieces of armour and clothing, at least 2 native weapons, more NPCs from different parts of Tamriel to tell stories and information and more remarks about the character's homeland could have really added more depth in to the game and would really help in terms of RP purposes.

Thoughtzies?

Would have been nice. We got some Dunmer culture from Dragonborn.

Orcs have their stronghold.

We got the extremism from the Altmer.

Obviously have the Nords.

We got a bit of the Imperials through the Legion.

Meh, I believe that there was not enough Nordic culture despite the fact that TES V is set in their own homeland.

Bethesda should focus on the problems at hand before introducing new things.

There WAS Nordic culture.... and it was the heretical, blasphemous one. Shame on them.

The Imperial Empire ruined the Nords. I'm telling you now, if the Nords were never part of the empire then we would have a Skyrim full of True Nords. I guess we will have to settle for Draugr, the closest thing to a true Nord. Its a shame they are undead though.

No.

The Nords killed their own culture when they forsaked Alduin, Chief of Divines. They lost their ways when those petty and ambitious savages envied power. And then High king Borgas went even further and began introducing the Elven pantheon in early first era. And then it was Tiber Septim - False god - who put the final nail in the coffin. Solidifying the blasphemous ways, and securing himself as the heretical mortal god for the heathens.

I kinda agree. When i was waiting for skyrim to come i kinda expected it to have a more nordic feel to it,Have a bit wilder and brutal feel with wild nordic tribes and clans running around, mead halls and chieftains. Yes skyrim got that,But i expected,Werebears roaming the land,Nordic hunters with spears hunting horkers and all that stuff.

It is no secret, that I despise what has become of my brothers and sisters. I look upon Alduin's holy land and see primitive goblins getting drunk and culturally degrading by the hour. I then look upon my sacred halls and see the last remnants of the Nords for what they once were. And it's enough to make a 5,000 year old holy man of yore very sad.

But know that I will break free of Valdar's ward, wicked it is. And when I do, Skyrim will undergo a cultural renaissance. And I will take my rightful seat on the Snow Throne.

For some reason when I read that I had the sudden desire to create an Orc Battlemage ..... I'm not sure why, and I have to get up in 6 hours for work, so maybe another time

The Empire did nothing. Alessia's Imperial pantheon was an attempt to bridge the gap between the Mer and the Nords in the newly-liberated Cyrodiil, but religious conversion has never been a cornerstone of the Empire. They certainly weren't forcing the Nine Divines on the Dunmer, Bretons or Altmer; I fail to see why the Nords would get special treatment.

Hell, Talos is an Imperial deity, not a Nord one (the equivalent is Ysmir).
