People with 1000+ hours in game...

Find out what you like the most in the game and do more of it. And if you're playing on PC fix those things you don't like with mods.

This. Roleplaying makes the game feel more like a real adventure. After you finally create the perfect character you like the game becomes very fun. Examples of my fun are in my signature. :)

This was a must at least for me. The unmodded game just bored. The game wasn't challenging enough, there was too much handholding, and graphics svcked (on PC). Only after I had installed about a dozen mods I finally got the epic gameplay experience I was looking for.

Good for you. After I had played both Morrowind and Oblivion with mods unmodded Skyrim just paled in comparison and I had to mod it too.

I live with my dad but it seems like he cares more about drinking. He never tells me to get off the xbox and I really dont know why.

RP. Give your character a background and only do things he would do.

Ok, that actually made me a bit worried. And not because of how much you play...

Lots of different characters that each experience a slightly different set of content.

Some won't do guilds at all, some will just be Archmage. Some will do Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood, another will wipe out the Bortherhood and join the companions.

Lots of different builds too, mages, thieves, some won't use armour some will.. etc.

Though lately I've been gravitating towards the Vampire Lord Necromage playstyle, I find the combination of slight bonuses and maluses to give a very nice glass cannon playthrough.
