Landscape viewable at distance after lowering it.

I made a road, lowered the land for it to fit but when I view it from afar you can see an ugly blotch of land that shouldn't be there. Anybody have an idea how I can fix this? Second time Iv run into this problem but I can't find the answers im looking for.

Would really appreciate some help.

That's the game's LOD; what you see in the distance. It doesn't go away, it just get hidden by the actual land. By lowering the land, you've made the LOD visible.

I don't think its recommended to alter the Skyrim LOD, but that's up to you. If it was me, I'd just raise the land.

Well there goes a days worth of work if this can't be fixed sadly. It's really just a small chunk thats blocking the cobble road I made but the path is long and straight and will be noticed easily. Only alternative I have is making a textured white ugly path which I would very much like to avoid.

Has anyone altered the skyrim LOD with any success? I would love to know how to do this.
