Legendary tips for a returning player!

Post » Tue Aug 06, 2013 5:18 am

Hey,

I am returning to skyrim and I've gotten all the DLCs with the legendary edition on PC. As I've only played Skyrim at the very start I imagine a lot has changed with DLC.

Since I'm a min-maxer I wanted to ask if there was a guide for the Legendary edition as well as the best armor/weapons based on class/armor values.

Personally I enjoy playing assassin characters a la DB and Thiefs guild, afaik in vanilla skyrim the best I could get was the ancient shrouded armor, moreso for the bonuses than the armor value itself, and blade of woe was the best dagger I believe.

I cant see the point behind legendary skills aside from leveling up more? Also I plan to play it on legendary difficulty to see how it goes..

Thanks!

Definitely the most common question when it comes to Legendary...

I have very little experience when it comes to the sneaky weaklings, but assassins are one of the strongest builds.

As a general rule, always be alert to your surroundings, use everything to your advantage.

Yea, I guess I'd have to prioritize health early on. Also, potions and stealth/arrows might be better to start out with I reckon and switch to daggers later, but that's just my theory given how the legendary difficulty works.

Edit: what about followers? Are they still stuck on the level you encounter them or did they fix that?

Followers will level with you now, but if you're going to be sneaky, a follower will get you detected all the time.

Right, some of them could sneak but I reckon that's still useless.

You could theoretically raise Sneak to 100 in Helgen at the cost of ignoring Two Handed, destruction (Too time consuming to raise it to 100 in Helgen), One handed to an extent (It'll be around 33 with Sneak at 100) and Archery. It's risky but could give you an edge.

The point of legendary skills is to be able to add health/magicka/stamina and perks without having to grind skills you don't want. For example, once you max your crafting skills and make your "final" set of gear, you can reset them to 15, redistribute perks, and then level them again to get more stats and perks.

Legendary difficulty is noticeably harder than Master. The early levels are the toughest. Stealth melee/archery is definitely viable, though. It might be the easiest style.

Yea I figured as much.. another question though - can I still one-shot normal enemies given the proper perks and weapons?
