What is a .tes file?

Post » Tue Aug 06, 2013 1:54 am

It's been awhile since I looked under the hood of my Data file. So I'm cleaning up my mod list once again, and adding things in, merging some things, etc, etc. While looking at the esm/esp's, I noticed my MMM.esp's had an .tes file among them. It's the only one as a matter of fact.

Can someone help me remember what a .tes file is? In particular, the MMM.tes file.

Thanks,

.tes files are what I end up getting when the CS screws up when saving a file, I think I've been able to salvage scripts from them with a text editor when that happens, but otherwise they belong in the waste bin.

Oh crap. I've been editing my copy of the MMM.esp. Did CS make a duplicate copy of the MMM.esp when I saved it and named it MMM.tes? Is my edited copy of MMM.esp screwed?
