Legendary Difficulty Unfair

Post » Tue Aug 06, 2013 3:40 pm

I recently started playing Skyrim again on my new PC and I am rather disappointed by legendary difficulty as it is so unbalanced, instead of the difficulty being raised all they do is raise the enemy damage and "lower our damage by like 75% (wtf)", and I myself am a completion gamer especially in Skyrim so I feel somewhat obligated to play it. I don't know what I should do, it sounds stupid but I really want to play but I can't lol.

It's the hardest difficulty, what in Dagon's name do you expect?

There is no shame in dropping the difficulty a notch at a time till you hit a 'comfort' zone. May be you could use legendary for bosses or something so that you could still get the taste of it.

Then don't play it. It's clearly fake difficulty. Nor is there any online pro-skyrimz sniperz112 to show off too.

That's always been Bethesda's way of "increasing difficulty". Many have complained about it in many games for a long time, but that's what they keep giving us.

Either turn down the "difficulty", or get used to dealing with damage sponges.

You don't really HAVE to play on legendary......

It gets better as you acquire damage boosts via perks, smithing, etc.....but yeah the beginning can be tough

Tips:

Play as a stealth character
Never charge in to combat
Always keep a stealthy companion
Play on master for a few days
Avoid fighting as much as possible
Spam the paralyse spell
Use fast travel and carriages rather than trying to walk
If combat cannot be avoided then let your follower soak up the damage while you snipe with a bow. Make sure your follower cannot die. Use Aela from the Companions and give her the most tankish gear you can find.
YOU MUST USE RESIST MAGIC ENCHANTMENTS
Be a Redguard and use adrenaline rush to spam power attacks or shield bashes

It's not unfair, it's ridiculous. But there are ways to make it through.

I don't think using fast travel will help.. if anything it will make the issue worse...

sure using Fast Travel may prevent having to deal with Threats in the wilderness like Bears or Trolls, but the more you fast travel, the more likely you are to get Dragon and Vampire attacks... which are extremely dangerous on Legendary....
