Missing bridge in Riften

Post » Wed Aug 07, 2013 5:31 am

So decieed to start a new character today, tinkered around and hopped over to Riften. Well, didn't notice it at first until I saw a guard just drop into the canol. When I looked into it, the bridge that goes over the canol near Honeyside and Pawned Prawn, is missing. The leaves that are at either side are there, but the bridge is physically not there. Would anyone happen to know the id for that bridge, or another potential fix so I could reenable it or fix the error?

I unfortunately can not post a link to a screenshot I took for some strange reason...

The bridge is the one that goes over the canol just over where Elgrim's Elixirs is.

Ah, well that's annoying. It's happening in all saves, I loaded up the one where I just got to Whiterun, used the carriage, ran into Riften and the Bridge was missing, so not sure what it is. Might just need to enable it, just don't know the reference id

Leave riften or enter a building in riften, then re enter riften or leave a building. the bridge should be back.

it probably just failed to load.

Already tried that, didn't work. The AI still thinks it's there so will walk then fall to the walkways on the water then go up the stairs nearby and continue their patrol.

Ok, well, I found the bridge has the code of "000ef300" however it has the [D] marker after it, would anyone know how to reenable it?

I never did, that's the thing. No idea why it's got that marker, which is why I'm so confused, I had never opened the console during the entire time I've had this playthrough until I found this error.

I'm not that far in, only level 8, just wanted to head to Riften to get the Thieves guild stuff going, easy money and all that. It's not like I've got 100 hours invested in thischaracter, just wondering if I can correct this error or if I should just cut my loses, delete my saves and restart and hope for the best.

well you could try ID.enable so in your case (000ef300.enable)

But I have serious doubts if that would work.

Personally I'd just ignore it because it sounds hilarious, otherwise a restart seems like a reasonable option...

I just like it to be there, it is a little funny, but I plan on doing a considerable amount of business in Riften so it'd be nice to have it there, and sadly, that command didn't seem to do anything. Going to just do a wipe of the saves and try again, guess Skyrim just had a little derp moment. Ah well. Honestly, it's the biggest error I've come across like this, and at least it wasn't game breaking, though it wasn't aesthetically pleasing either.

I've had this happen to me quite few times when playing skyrim. A reload usually sorts it out. When things like that happen,i go back to the dashboard restart the game and reload. I never just load from the in game menu.

A lot of wierd things happen since they have done these new engine changes. I never have this in morrowind or oblivion. Sometimes your stats or perks will not load straight away too.

Sometimes it can take a minute or two for the game to realize you have the weightless perks,or the actual armour rating you have. If you have the conditioning perk and then load your game and sprint, sometimes your stamina goes down quicker than it should. As though you haven't unlocked the perk. Then it sets itself right. This doesn't happen all the time though. It's the game not loading things properly. And again, all this started with the new engine changes.

I personally don't get amused by things like this. I find it sloppy and very poor all round.

They need to work on that for the next game. Or do a complete new engine.

Do you use mods? If so then post your loadorder and if you don't know how to then just do this.

1. Install both BOSS, Wrye Bash and TES5Edit if you haven't already done that

2. Run BOSS and include the BOSS log in a spoiler in your psot

3. Clean the official DLC which include cleaning Update.esm (it's importnant to clean Update.esm), Dawnguard.esm, Hearthfires.esm and Dragonborn.esm (do not clean Skyrim.esm)

4. Go through the BOSS log and clean every mod there is unless the author has specific stated that cleaning could break the mod

5. If BOSS detected any dirty mod that needs cleaning then run TES5Edit and apply the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1425445-relz-tes5edit-plugin-cleaning-emporium/?view=findpost&p=22860640&hl=tes5edit filter then remove the records for ITM resp UDR

6. If you have unrecognised mods then manually place them in your loadorder before you rebuild the bashed patch and most of those mods should been placed above the bashed patch

7. Rebuild the bashed patch in Wrye Bash and you should have the mod checker open once the bashed patch has been rebuilt

8. Click on the mod checker button in the bottom in Wrye Bash then click on the copy button and after that just paste your loadorder into your post

Go to Markarth, wait 30 days and then WALK up to the cell where the bridge should be.

Traveler,

If you want to see the bridge again, fill a bag with 100,000 gold and place it into the fish barrel next to the fishery.

Signed,

Bandit

But it must be really funny watched guards fall down again and again xD

Besides, there are other bridges yea? Just take it that a bunch of thieves stole the bridge. Its Riften after all.

It does sound really weird though. Didnt know bridges could just fail to load.
