How do I use the Steam Workshop?

Post » Wed Aug 07, 2013 12:28 pm

I have subscribed to 3 or 4 mods. I subscribed to the SkyUi mod. It doesn't seem to have been working for me. What am I doing wrong?

I launch through the Skyrim SKSE. So how am I suppose to use mods through Steam Workshop? I am new to this and would be grateful for any help.

*edit* I see, I have to use the regular Skyrim launcher for the mods to take effect. If I launch this way and next time launch through SKSE, will the Workshop mods be in effect then?

I am afraid to screw up the mods, I manually installed.

You need to use the Skyrim launcher whenever your mods are updated, but once they're installed you can just keep launching through SKSE as usual.

I'd recommend not to use Steam Workshop. Way too many disadvantages.

It didn't work. It only works if I use the regular launcher. When I use the SKE, I don't get the SkyUi. I will try install it off the Nexus site and see if that works. Thanks for all your help everyone. Will let you know if this works.

No more or less than relying on NMM instead. Frankly I've had more trouble with trying to get NMM users to install things properly than Workshop users.

I unsubscribed from Steamworkshop and not everything is gone. I think I saved a spare install and overwriting as we speak. Hopefully this will put everything back in. No idea what happened. Guess I will not use Steamworkshop and just install manually like I have been doing.

Wish me luck because I have no idea what I did last time and forgot what I did. Oh well, if this doesn't work, a fresh install again. :)
