Fun fact or popycock

If you look up the word Nordic, you will find that its entomology is unknown but probably based on the French Nord or Dutch Noord - both meaning the north direction. However, some scholars believe the word is actually an old English onomatopoeia for the sound that is made when getting slapped in the face. Apparently, the Vikings were famous for doing this before chopping off heads.

Fact.
My Breton Assassin slaps Nords and the sound they make strangely sounds like "nord". Then she cuts their heads off.

This was no joke. But I guess it's up to the reader whether to believe it or not. Last I checked there were no more Vikings to ask, short of a certain purple (American) football team in Minnesota, USA.

There you have it. Proof positive!
