i had a random idea when my internal fallout clock said, Fallout 4 is drawing near. Hope this makes it come faster

Scene 1-Pre Fallout before the apocolypse. Nevada farm, home to a elderly couple who happen to have a vault under their land. Sunny day sun shining 90f humid, lemonad sitting on the little wooden table Grandma and Grandpa rocking back and forth on their porch to their ranch house.

Part 1-Grandma "I can feel it in my bones"

Grandpa "What do you feel granny"

Grandma " its here, its time"

Grandpa " Well whats here you damn batty woman"

Grandma" The fallout is a commin, and its time to head to that fancy vault those young people built"

Grandpa "O your just going batty as usual!"

Radio "(random oldy toon stops playing) Well folks sorry to interupt; But thats it, I hope some of you are the lucky few people who get to retreat to a vault, because its that time!"

Grandma " Heheeeee i told yah didnt i , i told ya?"

Grandpa looks at her and shakes his head because he didnt want to hear it

Grandma "Good thing i packd everything already and its by the door, go grab it and be usefull!!"

Grandpa "Hrmph"

Radio repeats" Well folks sorry to interupt; But thats it, I hope some of you are the lucky few p............" phases out as Grandma and Grandpa Look at the horizon at the blindling light and mushroom clouds all around them and missles flying off.

Grandma "You forgot to write the date down on the calander again didnt you"

Grandpa " Oops"

Radio phases back in"this message is on repeat for the "robot voice 664th time"

Grandma "Glad i wont ever have to deal with you again"

Grandpa shakes his head and giggles, then whispers "i didnt forget i just couldnt stand livin with her no more"

Grandma "What did you say......"

All the nucluear dust waves reach them all at once and they shine green and fall back in their chairs, when the dust clears they are rocking back and forth and for a second you think can see grandma snicker and grandpa look disapointed as if hes stuck with her forever.

Part 2: 300 years later, inside the vault underneath the old couples farm, inside a classroom with children taking their vault test, with a twist, the class teacher made a video of what happend when the bombs fell to keep showing to the children every year since and has been passed down over and over

Film just ending and pans the classroom looking at all the young faces

Teacher " Well kids, this is why communication is key, you should remember that when taking the test, or we could end up just like them!

Male stutdent "Ghouls?"

Female student " EWwwwwww"

Teacher "Yes, Ghouls. So make sure to keep apointments and be on time for everything!"

Part 3: a few mins after the teacher finishes we are back on the farm where the old couple died, or were reborn as ghouls O_O!?

Grandma and grandpa still rocking back and forth in their chairs, and they are both now brainless ghouls

Grandma "rah aaaa ra ra"

Grandpa " ra" (kinda like his old Hrmph)

Part 4: a day later the vault finaly opens but everyone in the vault is at the Yearly celebration when their ancesters made it to the vault and kept them all safe!

Grandma and grandpa notice the opening infront of them as they are rocking and turn their heads ever so slightly in wonderment. they as ghouls, head for it right away and rush in (camera pans back and forth between the Celebration and the 2 ghouls running in screaming, and pans to ghouls comming out of the wood works all around them as well)

A little Girl and little Boy who snuck away and asked the questions in class and went to the security room watch the cameras as the ghouls run room to room and then a flood of them run in. Then they witness the massacer. Luckily the Vault has a AI and is fully autimated as well with little shoots for food and such. So the vault seals off all the rooms when the mayor of the vault dies as it regains full control.

you then watch the 2 children and the AI grow up 12 years in the course of seconds and they are now 18. The AI taught them everything it could and said its time for them to move on and rebuild socitiy all the doors open grinding and creaking, the young advlts have big smiles on their face holding hands as they are now a happy couple. Low and behold, Grandma and Grandpa Standing outisde the door with blank looks on their ghoul faces.

Grandma looks at Grandpa "Rah"

Grandpa looks at Grandma " Rah Rah" (like whatever your always right in a ghoulish way)

They both rush the 2 young advlts and eat them. THE END

Couple of things.

Ghoul transformation isn't instantaneous. It happens over several years (Moria doesn't count, her insta-ghoul was just a way of ensuring the player could complete her quest line) Carol was a little girl when at the time the bombs dropped, by the time she began to ghoulify she had apparently grown to at least an advlt height., since she clearly wasn't a child ghoul.

An old person would probably be far to weak to survive the initial radiation dose. Not to mention the shockwave that would've hit them before the dust wave carrid in its wake.

How would they know they've been stuck with each other forever? It's not as if the knowledge that they've been turned into ghouls would immediately come to them.

None of the vaults had any knowledge of the outside world once the bombs fell. How would they even be aware of ghouls?

Why would they need to write down the date of the bombs dropping? Nobody apparently had no knowledge of the exact date, so why would a old couple on a rural farm know in advance?

The bombs were just launched, no warning beyond standard alarm systems. Heck, some vaults were apparently underpopulated because there'd been so many drills, people didn't pay attention to the sirens when the moment came.

A lot of holes there.

please have a open mind and imagination when reading it , as it is every bit of possible when you truly think about it.

K for all those big holes;

1. it was a newer vault, they wanted to populate it early to start the "tests" inside. And if you read it all, the radio brodcasted over 664 times (after every song) and they ignored it until it happend, as for the "date on the calander" they were already packd ages ago to go inside, they probably didnt realize it would be an actualy nucelar strike, but agitated as they wernt inside when it happend

2. It was full of cameras outside as they wanted to record the outside as part of the "test" if anything ever happend

3. The Vault was under their farmland so the cameras they had were around the farm

4. The Vault and Farmland was over 100 miles away from all the explosions as it was just a empty area all around with nothing but farms and ranches(yes you can see the explosion from a further distance depending on the size of the bomb/area of explosion)

5. Common expression of old people, tv shows, and movies with old people "im stuck with you forever"

6.Its a Fantasny World , Not the real world, So anything is possible - they died as humans then revived as mindless Ghouls years later

7. for the porch scene they are Dead, it is the "shockwave radiation dust clouds/wind" that rocks them

8.for future holes use imagination , many posibilitys for "why" anything to fill them

I have an open mind, but stuff like this needs to be consistent with whats been seen in the Fallout Universe (Not just Fallout 3)

And I'm seeing a fair few things that aren't consistent.

then why not help me patch up the inconcisitances isntead of bashing it (and btw the fallout series is not consistant alot of the time)

maybe you could rewrite it so its "consistant"

as for consistencys, this was a possible trailer, not a rendition , reproudction of the entire serieis, its supose to entice the mind, make you think and imagine, shock you, and make you want to play it, and this is Fallout 4, not any of the previous, and hey, 3 had aliens, so again, Anything is possible "hits the fast forward button on the time paradox watch" Muhaehaehhehe

The Fallout Universe has rules of its own and anything isn't possible. Things need to stay as consistent as possible or what is the point in building a Universe if you're just going to wipe your butt with it for every single game. Also alot of people hate Mothership Zeta around these parts because the devs just herped and derped and through them hinting that Aliens were the real cause of the Great War, that they will be back and have been involved in our world for centuries. In short, nothing is our fault, it is all the Aliens and Fallout will become Fallout Resistance or War of the Worlds. A game about fighting Aliens and not a game about humanity rebuilding from our biggest mistake, learning nothing. Hence War, war never changes.

Anyways I believe this would fall under Fallout 4 speculation, suggestions and ideas thread.

Edit: As for your idea, I am not bashing it. I just don't like when people say "anything is possible." The idea of people leaving a shelter into an area infested with ghouls is interesting.

I've admittedly only skimmed through the topic but I'm not a fan of visiting life before the war, to me that's just being stuck in the past.

This sounds an awful lot like a zombie movie and does have some holes in it.

1. If the grandma and grandpa looked at a mushroom cloud, they would have gone blind.

2. Ghoulism doesn't happen overnight and they wouldn't have sat in a chair for 200+ years.

3. If one of the kids is the main character is shoves the backstory right in your face and doesn't leave any room for RPing that someone might want to do.

You mean the flash itself. Mushroom cloud is perfectly harmless to vision, it's that flash of the explosion that does the damage.
