Which is the best Summon in the un-modded game?

Post » Thu Aug 08, 2013 11:17 pm

Well, I would like to ask everyone which is the best (I know this can be somewhat arbitrary) conjuration in un-modded Skyrim.

To me, it's the Dremora Lord, but I've seen people saying that the Wrathman from DG is actually stronger. I don't know, since I haven't used the Wrathman, ever. Still, if he is stronger, he doesn't taunt enemies (or make them release their bowel contents, better saying) like the Dremora Lord. "I'll feast on your heart!"

Dremora hands down. Sure, wrath men have more health, but deal considerably less damage (dremora win 1 v 1).

Against dragons though, storm atronachs rock. No worrying about resistance, accurate, and powerful.

Frost is decent to use as a meat shield while throwing the adept level frost spell threw them. Works great against archers.

I'm a big fan of Arniel's Shade. Summoning it costs 0 magicka, he will use powerful fire and lightning spells as well as Heal Other and (though I haven't seen this yet) banish Daedra. Very useful if you don't have the skill needed for a Dremora Lord.

There really aren't too many options are there...

On a side note, I once killed someone and reanimated him so I can kill him again. One of the best fun I've had in this game.

Durnehviir, a dragon that can raise an army of bonemen/mistmen/wrathmen. Wrathmen and Dremora Lords are cool but I'd say having a dragon on your side FTW.

Dremora Lord and Dragon Priest are the only summons I use on my main Xbox guy.

Dragon Priests for dragon battles.

Dremora Lords for everything else.

wrathman, compared to the dremora lord he's quiet. I prefer it that way. they're probably about equal in terms of gameplay

Nah. A Dremora Lord will down the Wrathman. I already tested this by do the "permanent summon" glitch with one and then the summon the other. They fight since the "permanent summon" one becomes aggressive... And the Dremora Lord won.

I stand corrected but I still prefer the wrathman, the squeaky bone sounds is very reassuring, almost cosy

Dremora Lord, tactics wise.

For sheer fun? Flaming familiars!
Nothing like sending them into a room filled with oil and full of Draugr.

I prefer Dremora Lords mainly because I like some of their quotes and such... They have such an awesome voice!
