Tenpenny Commits Suicide?

Post » Sun Apr 18, 2010 12:55 am

I started a new character today, and had gotten into Tenpenny Tower quite early. After.....um....seeing...some pretty fireworks, I was wandering around at the base of the tower, and stumbled upon Tenpenny's dead carcass. Needless to say, I aquired a sniper rifle and a fancy suit quite early in the game, but does anyone know why Tenpenny might have been lying at the bottom of the tower, dead?

well he was on a tall balcony and mr. burke always had access but tenpenny always complained about being lonlely mabey you accedently pushed him?
if he stands up he may sometimes be standing on his chair which if he wandered then he may have got on the ledge and fell

Are'nt there some glitches that cause Walter in Megaton to fall though the catwalks? i remember reading something like that a few months ago maybe that is what is happening here, Tenpenny loads before the balcony floor does and he falls to his death?

Yeah, this happened to me. Halfway through fixing the damn pipes in Megaton I found Walter dead in an alleyway, meaning I was unable to complete the quest. I ended up reviving him through the console, and he was none the wiser.

I'm assuming this could potentially happen to other characters in the game, though you really aren't missing much with Tenpenny's death unless you're planning on making an evil character.

It's a glitch, there's no script that makes him commit suicide.

I thought it was kind of funny Walter fell off the deck in my most recent play through. It was just like *crunch* "UGHGHHGH". And then I turned around and there he was. Guess he hated his life :D

Honestly, a glitch that occurs to a character I barely even talk to anymore that makes them look like they committed suicide is pretty cool.

Yeah, but if you walk into town with a bunch of scrap metal in tow, and suddenly see the guy you're gonna sell em to plummet from the sky and land at your feet dead.. You're gonna be posting that [censored] on FML..

Yeah, true, it svcks if you actually use him for his repeatable quest. I suppose you should just give it to Winthrop if that happens, unless you slaughtered underworld.

They should have a reference to that glitch in the next Bethesda Fallout game. Someone like Gob is traveling to where ever the game is set and he tells you about Megaton saying "There was this one guy who committed suicide. Poor Ol' Walter."

Yea.... Ummm.. I don't know if you've heard but.. Im not exactly the kinda guy who hears about a place like Underworld, and let's it continue to exist in harmony..

So basically.. I butchered each and every one of it's residents.. Winthrop? Decaying Molerat Food..

I would never have given him chance to fall off, tbh. I like throwing off myself.

That's what she said.

Go to Rivet City and learn about Mister Lopez, to fulfill your fantasy. Talk to Father Clifford to find out where he hangs out at 3PM.

Head there, and initiate him in dialogue.. :whistling:

I always save, throw em off, then reload and convince him to live.

If you tell him to just jump himself, he runs but lands in the water. Yet dies.

You don't die from landing in water you idiot! :swear:

In real life you might, if you're that old and frail, but in-game, if you land in water, you survive no matter what.

I guess he's just meant to die.

Well, for scrap metal, I:

1. If I need karma, give it to Walter free (this usually occurs if I'm trying to get attacked by Talon scum, so I can lure them into something nasty).
2. If I need 5.56, grenades, stimpacks, or Radaway, I give it to the Outcasts.
3. If neither is truwe, I give it to Walt and make him pay.

If Walt dies, I just get extra Stimpacks and sell them.
