I agree. why, if you are smuggling drugs, would you want to attract any attention to your activities. e.g. rent a house rather than throw someone out of it

You know what they should have done, is panned this out to all major news stations. Just so it'd seem like a more "credible hoax" and people would be gasping and whatever else people do when they learn two ranches have been taken by drug cartels... and really, what would that accomplish? (The taking of two ranches, not the gasping... but that's another question too.)

i could answer your question and delve deeply into the societal and political mentality of my people (Texans and the GoP in general)... but.... I smell bears, and bunnies, kefka and summertime, oh my.

It's already well known in deep south Texas about the violence but all of it is in the Mexican side. Not too worried about a spill over since it's just drug and turf wars. Most of this is happening mostly because the president is doing a crackdown on the gangs.
