Fallout 4 Speculation Suggestions and Ideas #143

Post » Sat Aug 10, 2013 7:14 am

This thread is so that we can keep all the discussion in one place.

This topic is for a friendly discussion of ideas and suggestions for Fallout 4. We all have opinions about what the next game should have and should not have. Each of us has the right to express that opinion freely. There are points we agree on and points we do not agree on. This means that people are going to disagree with you on some things. Accept that and move on. No need to beat your point so far into the ground that no one wants to look at it any more.

At moderator discretion, threads about specific and distinct topics as they relate to FO4 and the rest of the Fallout series may be acceptable in the Fallout Series forum. General idea/suggestion topics for a future Fallout game will either be closed, or moved to this one.

This thread should be used to discuss items you'd like to see in a future game, gameplay tweaks, quest ideas, things you hope are not in the next game and so on. If you want to discuss major issues, use a separate topic - such as the discussion about adding multi-player or co-op play, which already has a thread. Please search first to see if there is an active/recent thread on a particular topic.

Something to note. Discussions of Child Killing is not allowed on these boards. Don't even bring it up in this thread. It won't happen in any future game from Bethesda, so there is no reason to even discuss it. If you post about this subject, you may be Warned and or Banned from the boards for doing so.

This is also not a thread to discuss current or past Fallout Games, other than to mention an aspect of the game you want to see included, or not included, in a future Fallout game.

The perspective has a massive impact on whether it's fps or 3rd person, I mean you're basically just saying "Yeah it's not necessarily in first person and you don't have to use guns but it's a first person shooter".

I get a feeling you're complaining more so about the fact it's real-time?

From the last thread it got locked as soon as I went to post it.

"That's like me saying if I want to play a 50s style game i'll just play L.A noire, Godfather games or Mafia 2 it's illogical and very limiting."

true to a point too, eg the casinos in Vegas had to be there, granted (cos It's Vegas), but they felt bolted on and a bit pointless and empty. Aside from getting the chip from Benny you had no real reason to go inside them.

What I mean though, was this is like 300 years in the future, right? Those guys over there are running around in power armour and plasma rifles and Virtibirds, I want to go off with them instead of walking around this desert with a cowboy repeater chawing tabaccy like its 300 years in the past. Guess it's a guy thing?

Wow, thread #143! Posting here feels pointless but whatever.

At this point in time I am so worried about them excessively streamlining as they have with Skyrim that I would just be greatful if the experience was akin to New Vegas. As long as they follow Obsidian's lead, I am happy. New vegas' design>any open world game by bethesda by such a large margin, which is a little embarrassing really.

In my opinion....

Oi let's not say it's a guy thing eh? I've never liked the whole cowboy deal. I'd much prefer they leave the dusters, spurs and six shooters in New Vegas and focus more on something retro-futuristic. It'll all depend on the location though. The two strongest candidates in my opinion are Boston or Chicago, we won't be seeing much cowboy stuff there.

I'd much rather grab my technologically advanced loot than a cowboy repeater any day... Although nothing beats my darling silenced sniper rifle :fallout:

Yeah it has definitely gotten up there in numbers, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I agree, one can only hope at this point. They've been working on their next game for a bit now so they most likely know the direction they're taking.

The game itself hasn't even been announced. For all we know they began work on another project entirely instead of going straight to Fallout 4. There's never been any announcement that it'll definitely be in Boston. I'm assuming you learned all that stuff from internet articles? The majority of that garbage is either ripped straight from the community here without our knowledge or permission and then twisted to fit their needs of false "journalism".

They most likely noticed that community members here made mention of Boston being a prime location because of its connection to Fallout 3, stole our "speculation" (because everything concerning a future title is nothing but speculation at this point) and then used it to produce another false article. Which for some reason everyone believes despite the common knowledge that there has been no announcement and the pictures they use for their headings are from previous installments

The forums here even received a huge influx of new members a while back because an internet article said that "Bethesda is requesting suggestions for Fallout 4 from its fanbase", when in all actuality it was just this thread here on its 139th or so addition created by moderators to ensure the forums don't get flooded with our threads.

Oh no you're misunderstanding me. I'm not saying there is no Fallout, it just hasn't been announced yet. It's actually quite typical for this sort of thing to happen, in fact it's happened with many of the other previous releases. My bet is that there will be a minor teaser at VGA this year, nothing really more than an announcement though.

I'd expect an October 2014 release, but it might just as well be 2015. I've no problem waiting, it gives them more time to make a better game.

There is actually a thread on the subject, it just got lost under all the other threads. In which case feel free to sift through it. I believe the member, John Henry Eden, brought up some very good points in that thread in relation to the cycle we've seen thus far. So I'd start with his posts in that thread for some good speculation...http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1465356-vga-2013/?hl=%20e3
