I mean...all that shaggy fur. Surely they would actually feel more at home? They'd certainly be more tolerant of the cold then the nords, with all that fur.

They're not used to the cold. Big cats do live in desert like conditions on earth.

Think Jackals, lions, tigers, coyotes, kangaroos, desert wolves, bison etc. Those are just a few.

fur means nothing man, im talking in real life. how else do you think lions and other big cats live in africa and hot places? they are covered in fur but its not enough to stop the cold.

Fur is actually a poor insulator against cold temperatures. For most animals, fat is more beneficial. Bears hibernate because they can't store fat, while other animals tend to gorge during the summer to prepare for the winter.

Fur is more for moisture repellant than temperature control.

Same here. I always wondered how the furry animals in hot climates weren't so miserable. Didn't know fur wasn't heat insulation.

Not that it matters but bears hibernate because their food source, berries, etc. is very limited in the winter. They actually do store fat, that's how they prepare for hibernation. A bear can put on 40lbs a week of fat to prepare for hibernation.

They are adjusted to the warm temperature. So their blood isn't thick. Thicker blood means warmer blood. The Nords have thick blood so they aren't as cold. Probably why they have 50% resist frost.

Just look at house cats. They are constantly laying in sunny windows or looking for warm things to sit on i.e. computers, monitors, etc. I have no idea how warm cats need to be for purely physiological reasons, but they certainly like to be very warm.

The khajiit are not used to the cold weather, they are used to the warm sands on elesweyr.

An astute question, for we are far from home and this is a cold, hard land. We are creatures of the desert, and not meant to be in this frozen wasteland. But a wise Khajiit finds the best opportunities, even if he, or she, must travel far to find them. Skyrim is a land of great opportunity.
