Skyrim on a 4k TV

Post » Sat Aug 10, 2013 11:40 am

First, is even possible?
Second, how does it look if possible?
Third, any thoughts on convincing my wife to let me, I mean us, get one?
I've narrowed down our options:
A) Raid the kids' college fund
B ) Sell one of our kids. Kill two birds with one stone! See A above.
C) Get pregnant with a new baby solely for the purpose of selling. Bypassing any emotional attachment we might have.
D) Sell her eggs for science! Ya, science I said! :whistling:
E) Sell mother-in-law. My personal favorite! :D

Decisions, decisions. I'm tired thinking about all the options!

Option E seems like the best option.

If you ran Skyrim on a PC, and this is a situation that would require multiple video cards, then you could crank the resolution up to 3840 by 2160 so you could use the TV's resolution.

Which would be the only way to get content of that resolution on to that TV as no other sources really exist, yet. Based on the lukewarm response to BlueRay, I don't see much content coming soon for that format.

Phooey! That means only my wife could play it. Since I'm Xbox 360 and she is on the PC. Foiled again! :D

Same here. It plays great on my Hitachi 1080 plasma 50". Just can't imagine what it would like on a 4k TV.

Not too different to how it looks now if you're on 360, as the max resolution the game will play is 720p. You'd be better off buying a 1080 video projector, if you can control the light in the room (ie the room has to be completely dark).

1. Yes. This is pretty old tech. I got "6"k

2. Nothing special. On cosoles it looks just as ugly. On PCs it just lags more

3. "6"k costed me about 450 euros (+a very good videocard)

A-E. Or you could learn to use google and know what 4k really means.

I'm confused by your reply. I'm talking about the 4k TVs. The model I'm looking at is Sony Model number: 4KTVSERVERINSTL65/BND. Once you get the wall mount and accessories your easily looking at about $10 grand U.S. dollars. I'm not up on the currency exchange rates for the Euro, but if you can get a better setup than that in Europe for 450 euros, I be moving to Europe! Wife and kids be damned. :D
