Can You Edit the Sky Maps in the Lighting Window?

Post » Sat Aug 10, 2013 9:16 am

I've asked a couple times in the quick questions thread,

but no one could really tell me,

I cannot find the texture maps for them,

If you right click on your interior, click edit, go to the lighting tab, check the show sky radio button,

you can see a drop down with names like AlexCoast01, CoastBrie01, etc

these are sky maps, which I would like to pull into photoshop and play with. Surely someone knows where there are in the bsa?

or if they really are in the bsa?

thanks

AlexCoast and CoastBrie are Tamriel regions (probably left over test regions by the developers as they aren't used)
Regions use Weather to define the sky, and Weather uses cloud textures.
So the textures you're looking for are in Textures\Sky\Skyrimcloudxxxx.dds.

You'll probably want to create new cloud textures and create a new weather type for your purpose.

ok cool thx,

I wanted to create a deep space sky that just pokes through certain places of the interior.

do you think i need to create any weather for this?

and what's involved in the weather? like rain and wind, etc?
