If i were Psijic would i tell?
I must admit i've mainly though Psijic to act as more or less public advisors, cloacked figures in display next to their designated rulers. But maybe one should think Psijic similar to Blades, whom mostly work as secret agents. Of Blades we are aware as they make themselves known. So instead of constantly nagging about balance and positive things to rulers while wearing garments of Psijic Order they act more covertly.
But atleast Oblivion is such game that Psijics should be pretty visible. Cyrodill should be main place for Psjics to try to have presence in as it has most power over whole continent. Blades atleast should be aware of them.
Daggerfall was so huge place and each court of king and lord was so large that one or two covert Psijic might stay hidden with ease.
Vehk and rest of Tribunal doesn't seem to have much love for Psijic order (even when Sohta-Sil once was Psijic) Diviath Fyr can stay for he doesn't seem to be too public about it. Letters to Sotha-Sil suggests that he isn't very pious Psijic either, maybe acting more as information source for happenings of Morrowind. Does he even counter balance madness so common with-in Telvanni wizards? So their absense in Morrowind is understadable to me.
Skyrim is odd situation, maybe Eye of Magnus draws attention of Psijics? Or maybe Nords just are too concerned anything related to High Elves, even when Psijics are opponents of Thalmor. But that doesn't seem too realistic option, surely rulers should know that Psijics are against Thalmor if they had solid connections to Psijics? So lack of Psijics in Skyrim seems odd, only one we know of is involved with Eye of Magnus and he is pretty open about it.
Or something.
