Sorry for posting 2 noob questions in one day, believe me, I know that's stretching into wearing out my welcome here, but this is probably a stupid no-brainer anyway.
I've downloaded and followed the install information (not like it was hard) for the 4GB enabler/loader (whatever the right term is) and also use NVSE and the stutter remover.
I know NVSE is working as I can open the console and do 'getnsveversion' and it returns "2" so that's good.
I can tell the stutter remover must be doing it's thing from looking at the log file, that it's starting up as it should, no error messages and so on.
Is it then safe to assume that obviously the 4GB load is working as well? (IE, if I get that far, it must be doin' it's thing?)
I guess what I'm asking is is there a definitive way to know for sure that it's now using the full amount of RAM to load content?
I tend to think it isn't working, and here's why:
When I look in Windows Task Manager (Win 7) after I start NV via the original "FalloutNVlauncher.exe" (and then get the warnings when my save loads about NVSE missing, etc.) I am using 672000 K for the FalloutNV.exe process, and when instead I load the 4GB "fnv4gb.exe" (and NVSE and Stutter Remover are definitely engaged) I am still using 672000 K for FalloutNV.exe.
Of course, that may be that I don't understand exactly what the 4GB loader should be doing and if I'd see a difference in the main FalloutNV.exe process anyway.
I don't really know how to interpret the memory stats from the Performance tab of Task Manager but they don't change either depending on which loader I use. Both times I'll see 16GB physical, 9GB cached, 12GB available, 2.4GB free...and the actual "window" with the meter says 3.8GB. Those numbers don't line up in any reasonable way I understand, so I'm lost there - but regardless, they don't "change" at all based on me loading the regular FalloutNV loader or the 4GB-NVSE enabled loader. Same basic numbers always show there.
Sorry, lotta technical crap in there, but if there is a simple way to figure out what's wrong (if anything is) I could use a little help...
Thanks!
