Thoughts about dragon loot

Post » Sun Aug 11, 2013 6:00 am

I was thinking about what you can loot from dragons. Both physically and spiritually.

A normal dragon: 1-3 bones, 1-3 scales, a soul that will unlock 1 word of power.

A Legendary dragon: 1-3 of the same bones and same scales and a soul that will still only unlock 1 word. Although you are more likely to get an expensive weapon or piece of armour from them.

I was thinking maybe they should have different qualities of bones and scales. Something like Dragons and Blood Dragons would have a lower level of bones and scales, Frost and Elder have average and Ancient, Revered and Legendary have stronger bones and scales and three levels of quality for each piece of dragon equipment that can be made. Either that or the stronger the dragon the more useable bones or scales you can harvest.

As it is now I could harvest the bones of a legendary dragon, make an axe, say it is made entirely from the bones of a legendary dragon when although this would be true I could make the exact same quality of axe from the bones of a normal dragon and there would be no difference between it and the one made from a legendary.

Anyone else think stronger dragons should have higher quality scales and bones?

I agree completely. Would have been nice to have something implemented like that. Might have more Dragonbone Arrows.

I wonder how dragons don't develop haemorrhages inside them with all those pointy blades, armours they apparently swallow along with the owners. Oh, Skyrim.

Ummm, they are magical creatures, after all.

But seriously, if you open the door of legitimate logic, the whole thing falls apart in a heartbeat. I don't got here as it ruins the immersion. It's all pretend...

Probably the same way a Tiger shark swallow's a licence plate and never get's a tummy ache.

It would have been nice to have a system that allowed for better loot from harder enemies.
