How did you head-canon the adoption conversation? And just out of interest.
Did you adopt children of the same gender to yourself and your spouse?

why does it matter?
a persons sixual preference is of no ones concern but their own.
I don't see this going anywhere good. Anyway, I don't see why it would be totally different, but the kid in real life would probably question it. But this isn't real, and the kid would probably question a lot of things, like why did mommy marry a werewolf, or vampire, and why is daddy always gone months at a time.
edit: Although personally I cure myself first, and visit my house regularly.
Not a good idea to take a hotly debated RL topic and transfer it to a fantasy world. IMO it is a tempest in a teapot as far as Skyrim is concerned.
Eh, actually I gotta say that unless the child was really young, he'd definitely question it a whole lot I think. A whole lot. Lets be honest, its not the norm, and even though I personally have nothing wrong with it, it isn't ordinary enough to assume there wouldn't be issues that arised with the child. However, I doubt it would be something the kid couldn't cope with or get used to, especially since the parents would be loving and take good care of them. But that would likely always be strange to them on some level.
I never married someone of my own gender in skyrim,But well,Only got married once and adopted kids once in skyrim. Those features dont interest me that much.
Well...
Alois: Hey, hon?
Roggi: Yeah?
Alois: There's a brat out on the streets in Whiterun. Is it okay if we take her in?
Roggi: Whatever.
*one adoption later*
Alois: Eh...let's take her back. Now that I think about it, no children is one of the upsides of our relationship."
Roggi: Okay.

On a serious note, I doubt it would be much different from a male/female couple. Although, there would be difficulties when the child is "of age" and boy/girl doesn't have a dad/mom to explain things to them. But then, that's what Auntie Lydia is for.
I doubt the kids will really care to be honest, as far as I see it Dad and daddy or Mom and mommy saved the kid from begging at the streets, or working as a servant.
And no, Kid in real life hardly question these type of things! As long as the child is raised in a loving and nurturing home he/she will turn out alright.
As for ingame, I keep hearing Blaise mentioning how his other Pa took him out hunting and stuff like that. Plus the kid knows full well that he/she's adopted and they are pretty damn happy, regardless of the gender of their parents.
The headcanon was pretty simple, my Orc and his hubby are simple woodsman/hunters, and they wanted to start a family. They both simply asked Blaise if he wanted them to be his new parents.
My Nord farmer and his Orc hubby are looking forward to adopt Lucia, they saw her begging at the streets, and eating meager scraps of food, right now they are both expanding their one room house so Lucia could move in.
As for gender of the adopted kids. I always try to go for one boy and one girl.
