Can't seem to get the option to buy it, I've helped with the skooma problem, and helped a couple locals out. Help?

Gotta do five tasks for the people of Riften. The option should the appear when you talk to the steward after completing those tasks.

Usually a sub-task would bring up to keep track. This isn't happening, still good? Never had this problem

Does the Jarl have any related dialogue?

Doesn't show up. You just have to mentally keep track of how many tasks you've done or do some and keep checking with the steward.

Is it Maven? Because if it's Maven then you won't be able to get it.

Ya. I'm on Xbox 360 and can get the house, regardless of who the Jarl is. Never had a problem.

theres a few other tasks around town that i had to do in order to buy it, that wouldnt show up under the completed tasks. talk to the priest of mara inside of the bee and barb he will have a task for u, also talk to shadr the redguard from the stables, i think he hangs out on the bridge near the main entrance during the day until you complete his task. i think mjoll's quest might count too, not sure about that one tho
