Anything I should know?

Hi, I just started playing New Vegas and the only other games I've played made by Bethesda are Oblivion and Skyrim. Are there any tips or strategies I should know about?

My three primary skills are: Guns, Melee, and Repair.

I plan on journeying to Jacobstown as soon as I can to get Lily as a Companions (I did some research on Companions and thought she would be a nice edition to my team). Where is Jacobstown and where can I find Lily to start her quest? Can I tell her whenever I want to alter how much she takes her medication? Thanks!

You need to get yourself to the N-W corner of the map and find the long road to Jacobstown. You'll be traveling S-W on that road, going up into hills and mountains. It's a hike and it's not easy to get to right away.

While it's possible to go to Jacobstown straight out of Goodsprings at the beginning of the game if you have the right gear from add-on packs, you might want to follow along the primary quest for a little bit and do The Big U around the map to get a feel for things first. Once you reach the gates to Freeside, it's rather simple to get to J-Town... simple, but a long walk no matter what.

I couldn't tell you anything about Lily myself since I never use her. Maybe somebody else can help with that... or you could try the wiki.

Anyway, I strongly recommend following the main quest for a bit. If you haven't played much and you try to get to J-Town right away, you're in for a whole lot of dying. A whole lot.

I digress, Cazadores are the bane of every courier.

Honestly, I'm embarrassing now. I completely meant cazadores but my late night brain thought otherwise
