He's probably a little dissapointed that BETH ain't makin' New Vegas.

I played KOTOR 2, seemed a bit....cheezy, the running animation was retarded FTW, not as good as the one for KOTOTR.

Opens up possibilities, a new perspective, and although its not made by Beth, it will be within the Fallout universe they are developing, but it won't be Fallout 4, its like a spin-off, but a full-sized game spin-off.

A Fallout game with the 4th edition D&D rules.

It won't be based on D&D. Who the hell came up with that? If anything, I expect the ruleset to be closer to real SPECIAL than Bethesda's version is.

Many of the people at Obsidian working on Fallout: New Vegas actually worked on Fallout 1 and 2, as well as Van Buren (Black Isle's canceled Fallout 3). So I expect something better than Bethesda's Fallout 3.

Thankfully Bethesda isn't in the position to wreck another title, with the Fallout Logo attached to it.

Depending on personal preferences and point of view, it could be that "Unfortunately this means that Obsidian is in the position to wreck another title." It all depends on whether one likes what they've done in the past or not. I wasn't thrilled with what was done with KotoR 2 but gave them the benefit of the doubt because of LucasArts. Then there was NWN 2, that had some of the same problems/drawbacks that I hated so much in KotoR 2.

While I would like to say I'm looking forward to this, the truth is that I'm not. This will be another wait and see game for me.

Both Obsidian and Atari get equal blame for that. Atari for unrealistic demands and Obsidian for being way too ambitious despite said demands. But if you read some of the http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php?action=category&cat_id=61&sort_method=file_name&sort_order=ASC&start=0 from Project Van Buren, it's no mystery as to why some of us are excited.

I've read some of that. I've also read the unofficial FAQ. Kinda piles even more weight on the side of "wait and see". You have to understand that I did play the first game; I made myself finish it. I started but could never force myself to finish the second game. The idea of a third game along the same lines isn't that thrilling to me. I'll accept it is exciting to some players though. Like I said, personal preferences. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

I'm hoping for some meaningful choice/consequence and writing. As I found FO3's to be rather lacking in both.

Time will tell.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Fallout:New Vegas is going to used the Fallout 3 engine and basically be the same game in terms of how the combat and such work. What Obsidian tends to do a good job with is story, so we will hopefully see something pretty good in that regard, with in interesting story, sidequests, and characters. I'm hoping that they don't rely too heavily on the Van Buren stuff, as I was not impressed by it, but we shall see.

But the main point is that what Obsidian is doing is not a game along the same lines as Fallout 1 and 2, but rather a game along the lines of Fallout 3 but in a different location.

It certainly can't be any worse than the bad fan fiction/post apocalyptic hiking simulator that is Fallout 3.

I actually found KotOR II to be much better than the first one because it actually had a degree of depth to the storyline and dialogue.

luckily the new game is not a sequel to fallout 3 so there will be another one from Bethesda.

Unfortunately.

i love the fallout universe. :fallout:

Then you should be happy, because a lot of the folks over at Obsidian worked on the first two Fallouts.
