There have been http://www.patches-scrolls.com/grand_theft_auto4.php for GTA 4 on PC
Mostly because Bethesda doesn't test their games. They wait for people to buy the beta version, and wait for them to test it and then patch it... and then patch the patches.
Yes but there are it least over 100 bugs (not sarcasm)
a game this size is bound to have bugs in it. also its not like Bethesda made a "glitch free game" at anytime. i will say it again, its a large game with ALOT of coding. so ya there will be bugs and glitches, big or small.
edit: @ XRAT
dude put down the pitchfork. to make a game this size is a pain, and if you think you can do better, then try. i am not trying to pick a fight here, but when i read that. i have to say something. please understand i am not calling you a "nerd or what very the young folks call people on the web now a days" just try to understand where they are coming from. coding is a pain and is an art to do, and on something this size and scale it can not be done in 18 months.
I'm guessing you haven't played Daggerfall, Morrowind or Oblivion.
The game isn't terribly buggy now that there have been several patches, but when Skyrim was released it was virtually unplayable. It's astounding that they would release a game without testing it a few times beforehand.
If I was just going to be cynical, I'd call it misplaced priorities and a lack of dedication to fixing their products.
It's also just easier for things to go wrong the more complex and less linear a game is. However, I don't think that's a completely viable excuse. I do think there is a lot of blame to be put on both the dev team and the publishers/higher ups, who decide they can't be bothered to fix things so that their product does what they said it would.
By the way, does anyone have that quote from Pete Hines or Todd Howard about "near instant patching" or something similar to that? I remember something along those lines being said back in 2011, but I don't remember the full details.
