Haven't played in awhile

Post » Thu Aug 15, 2013 6:31 pm

I haven't played skyrim in along time stopped because my game kept crashing after like 30 minutes of playtime. So I'm wondering did the 1.9 update fix the crashing issue or does it still crash? If not I might replay the game anyway.

"The crashing issue?" I can't answer your question. The game has almost never crashed for me. I think I've experienced maybe four or five crashes since the game came out. I'm on PC, if that makes any difference.

same.. I've only had one crash, an that was because I had to many background tasks running (curse you dual monitors and need to multitask)..

@OP it may not be an issue with the game.. what are your system Specs, how long had you been playing the character that was afflicted, were you using any mods/DLC/Texture-replacers?

That's a rather vague statement. There are several variables that could contribute to a crash.

I've played from the release on the Xbox, with no real crashing issues. 5 months after release, I moved to the PC and nothing really changed. Don't get me wrong, the game will crash on occasion but they are very few and very far between. This is usually due to stability of the system and mods used. I can run a near virtual crash free vanilla game.

I play on xbox so no pc specs and the game usually crashes after I get 25-45 hours into a save. I have dawnguard and dragonborn but not the hearthfire dlc.

I'm on the Ps3 and I hardly have had crashing recently. The last crashing I had was due to my Ps3's fan being dirty.

So I expect for the 360 to be smoother.

Being on the console doesn't allow one to be any less affected by system issues.

There are a number of ways to improve performance. I posted a list of about 12 different items... if I can find it.

The main thing is to keep the system cool.

the room with the xbox is super cold but the system is in a entertainment center with no doors. So maybe thats the causebut really have no place to stick it besides on the carpetting and thats really not recommended. since carpet fuzzies can get into the xbox.

I have occasional load freezes that resolve themselves after 15-60 seconds. I have had total crashes like 3 times (on 360)

As for save bloat and stuff, I hoard lots of items (too much to sell atm need to fix that) have a lot of things in certain storage (organized) and I have A TON of save files. I could probably optimize it out better, but to do so I need to get a USB for it.
