About hearthfire

I was so eager to play hearthfire. I love building. The houses are meh and full of bugs and spawning bandits/dead things inside your walls..

I was willing to overlook that..

I wasn't going to adopt.. It's not why I play skyrim.. I have the sims 3 for stuff like that when the mood strikes.

Aside from the fact that the houses seem to be money sinks that are never finished..

Aside from the fact I need to be level 22 or something to get the house in the location I think is prettiest ... (What??!! Why!!!???)

A precious little girl came up to my Breton female character and had a basket of flowers.. She only had two or three items in the basket and since there is no bribe in skyrim I had no way to give this child any money... (Again.. Why??!!!)

The child is sleeping on the ground outside in the frigid dirty little (really rather big ) town of Windhelm... Outside in the freezing cold on the hard ground.. Stone pavement..

Granny ST's heart was breaking...I could not get that child out of my mind.. There is no way for me to take this child anywhere and tell someone or pay someone to care for her.. (Why not Bethesda??!! It's what I would do for my own grandchildren or any abandoned child.)

Dirty pool Bethesda.. dirty pool..

I adopted this child and bought the house in Riften..The housecarl Iona seems to be a cow who only sits at the dining table waiting to eat 24/7.. Like Lydia they seem to be broken all of them..

But it was another advlt in the house with the child all the time because you know what Bethesda.. I would NEVER leave a child alone while I went gallivanting around the U.S to "adventure" I just wouldn't.

It's ruining my game.. There should be hireable nannies for these kids that I can pay..

I'm going to start over and remove Hearthfire.. It's just how strongly I feel about this..

Thanks for reading.

Informing Bethesda on the Bethesda official forums about a Bethesda dlc.

Not speaking specifically to you.

I wasn't aware that problems and issues were not allowed to be posted about.

Since when did that become a rule?

I just open the console and hit [disable] when I come across ANY one of the bratty little snots. No matter if they are quest related or not. Should they be tied to a given quest.... well, I don't do that quest.

Yes, I'm a miserable bastard.

EDIT :

I feel worse about killing the ole bitty at the orphanage, than passing on one of the baby frostbacks.Yet another reason I will never undergo the DB questline again...

I wonder if they could mod in a follower for your orphan. They could have several canned interactions/scripts that happen throughout the day. What are some of the available idle animations right now between two characters? 1v1 talking? maybe a 1v1 sit on floor talking? maybe wooden swords can be equipped on the kid and nanny NPC and they can spar a bit? kid and nanny going outside the house and picking flowers, or messing around with your outdoor house stuff? (i'm just about to start my hearthfire project so i dont know what is outside yet).

maybe make a request in the modding forum if you are really serious about this issue

I've never had dead things spawn within my hearthfire homes, and although the workbenches can be glitchy, if you just exit them and re-enter they usually work right the second time, so I don't consider the hearthfire homes to be particularly buggy (not interacting well with some mods may be the problem). Those little orphans do have a way of pulling at your heartstrings, be nice if you could build the "Dragonborn Farm for wayward children". I always buy a little plot of land in Falkreath for a measly 5000 gold, hire one of my city Housecarls as a steward and do a couple jobs to become a thane of Falkreath. You can have a steward, a housecarl, a bard and a carriage master on premises 24 hours a day. If you bring home a dog for the kids, your little Dragonborns will be better looked after than 99 percent of the kids in Skyrim and 100 percent of the kids in the real world. I think your adoptees will turn out just fine Granny ST.

I don't really bother with Hearthfire anymore. It was fun at first, building amazing houses and all, but then it got a bit stale.

In the future, I might just build a beginners house. Maybe I'll just stick to Breezehome.
