"enable" console command help (potential spoilers)

Post » Fri Aug 16, 2013 5:49 am

Okay so I'm trying to bring Susanna the Wicked back to "life" after the "Blood on the Ice" quest, and I read somewhere that you can do that using the "enable" console command (as I read that her real actor was just merely disabled and theoretically this should've worked flawlessly).

So first, I typed in "prid 0001B11B" (the base ID is her actual ID, and not those of her dead bodies), then I entered into the command line "enable".

Now, technically it worked and shes back in my game, however there is just one slight problem... shes dead.

So does anyone know how I can do this so that she comes back to life alive and not as a dead body? Or should I just make a clone of her actor using the console command?

once shes visible via "enable" select her and type "resurrect" and she should return to life.

But Id prefer not to do that because someone told me that if an actor has the "DeadBodyCleanUp" script, then eventually they'll just disappear from the game again since the script cleans them up upon death. I'm not sure whether this is the same case as the "recycleactor" console command though

Ahhh wasnt aware of that as ive never resurrected a quest npc, i would think it would know not to do that if the npc is alive but i have no knowledge on the matter. I imagine the safest way is to simply spawn another one of her at you as she will be given a different id as well.

You aren't going to get the results you want by using [enable]. The only way to bring back a fallen NPC is to use [resurrect].

Even then, one must use the [Placeatme Prid ] command and then use [resurrect] so to bring back the original NPC and not just a clone. The clone will not have all the appropriate dialog selections of the original.

However, being that she is a scripted death from the end of a quest, chances are she will inadvertently be swept away after 10-30 days, anyway. In this instance you may want to just omit the Prid command and simply clone a new NPC. Being that she doesn't have any real dialog, other than idle banter, unlike a merchant, for example, a clone may work out to your advantage.

Then there is the option of simply making another NPC in the Creation Kit.

Out of sheer curiosity... Why are you wanting to bring her back? I mean, you can't marry her. She has no real purpose, aside from being part of a given quest. Otherwise she's just a generic NPC with little or no interaction capabilities.

EDIT :

Here is http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Form_ID on the difference in the form IDs.

Here is http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console on console commands. Paying attention to [moveto] and [placeatme].

1. Open the console.

2. Type "player.moveto 1b11b". You should be transported to an odd looking room with purple and green colors on the walls.

3. Look around find her body.

4. In the console, select the body by clicking on it. The ref ID should appear in the middle of the screen.

5. Type "resurrect 1" and exit the console. She should stand up.

6. Open the console up again and type "player.moveto 1b118". You will be transported back to Candlehearth Hall.

7. Open up the console once more and type "prid 1b118". Then type "moveto player". Susanna the Wicked should appear next to you back in Candlehearth Hall.

I hope this helps.

That's rather long winded. You don't have to teleport the player anywhere.

Just ...

  1. player.placeatme prid 0001b11b
  2. resurrect 1

?EDIT :

However, it may be prudent to use... player.placeatme 0001412b and create a clone as to "potentially" avert the deadbody script.
